Dave Mr BD is auditioning for a part in Jesus Christ Superstar later in May so wish him luck - he wants the part of Herod.
I remember, the classroom was so creaky, we used to put all the tables and chairs out on the grass, strew PE mats on the floor and hang the mikes from the ceiling. Then Concorde would fly over at a critical moment! :rotfl:
Couldn't do that sort of thing nowadays!0 -
morning all,
busy week this week getting stuff ready for the smallholder spring show this weekend... one part of me wish we hadn't booked the stand, so we could have gone up for the weekend to look around... BUT I really do need to get the pennies in now, as I want to get something finished up the ranch lol... so we are going to try and get the long strip of land re-fenced and piggy paddocks sectioned off... this is going to be double fenced.. a fence directly on the side of the footpath lane, then there will be a gap, big enough for a car to drive on, then the pig paddocks... the 'gap' will also act as a passage/channel for the pigs to be herded to the livestock box, which will be backed up to the gate, but still on the main lane...
the double fence will also act as barrier from the public and their dogs...
really do need to get the 'positive mental attitude' backWork to live= not live to work0 -

Jesus Christ Superstar on PE mats plus a soupçon of Concord:D:D The sound of a supersonic plane is not something that is easy to work into a musical set 2,000 years ago.:D
Well, no risk now of Concord disrupting any performance.
Mr BD helped out backstage with Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde recently. There was a big boo boo moment when someone was being carried lying down on a makeshift stretcher and fell off. Luckily the audience didn't realise it wasn't meant to happen so they got away with itThen the person playing the lead went off sick and the director had to stand in. Not one of the more successful productions methinks. 'Carry on in the Polytunnel' sounds more more enjoyable :rotfl:
A friend of mine has NDN's who sound eerily like yours Dave. Are they related possibly? Both properties are rented and they spend much of their time making petty complaints to the LL about this or that my friend has or hasn't done. Plus the old bloke peers in the windows, listens through the walls and spies on her in the garden. She put up a screen for some privacy and he then complained it blocked his view to the east! Passive aggressive is all the rage with little notes being stuck through her door complaining about silly things. She now completely ignores it all, which seems to be the most effective strategy. As you said in a previous post, getting a reaction is the aim of much of this objectionable behaviour.
Dull and chilly here this morning but I can have a lie in as neither plumber nor tiler are darkening my door today and Mr BD has gone off to work. Dogs are snoring and cats are chattering at the birds on the drive. Chickens scratching around happily. All well with the world in this little corner of Suffolk. And an added bonus, the Police appear to have finished with controlled explosions over the back and no further AK47's or Uzi's have come to light. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

In those days, Bristol airport wasn't very busy , but they were testing the Great White Elephant all the time over us. I think we updated JCS to modern times, but the old memory isn't what it was.
Later, when Concorde was in service, I could practically set my watch by the sonic boom, which was supposed to happen way out at sea, but was still very audible in Bath, early evening.
Fortunately, the loonies who complain about everything don't adjoin us, but our new hedge and copse will block their view of our field, leaving them with the two rotting vehicles in that direction, kindly provided by one of the last people they complained about. :rotfl:
Jeykll & Hyde would be a good name for them, as they give an outward appearance of benign pleasantness.
In other news, I have bids on 3 lawnmowers finishing today and I've won a printer on Freecycle.0 -
Good morning
pretty dull here today although seems to be dry at the moment which is promising.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
had the email I asked the animal health guy to send regarding the complaint and the out come... the complaint was, our pigs were under weight, and had no food or water...lol..we have automatic drinkers which are plumbed in to the mains water, if they thought our pigs were under weight I dread to see one that is then lol... will be joining hubby up there later so will take pictures of our under weight pigs to show you...Work to live= not live to work0

Anyone know their raspberries?
Back at the start of the year I bought 6 bare root canes from Aldi and just stuck them in 30cm pots, three per pot, 'for now'. Of course, with the other work on the garden they have remained in the pots and are in full leave and budding.
What would be best ?
+ Leave them in pots for this season, keeping watered
+ Plant out, but just sink the whole content of pots into ground leaving the canes close together
+ Plant out, and try and tease the roots apart and space them in a row.0 -

they are just about to have their grub.....lol..
when we took the piggies to the abotoir in January, he told us they were too fat lol...
Obviously mr git ( or the person who made a complaint) haven't seen our pigs close up..
hopefully 'pig gate' is now over, well for a while anyway...
by all accounts weather is supposed to be nice from mid week onwards for a few days.. hope so.. as I want to get some more things planted out ....Work to live= not live to work0
