    Wicked Dave.

I am about to go home and may not be on-line much next week. Gardening and house to do.

Where does the day go? I had planned to get out and get the seedling replanted and suddenly it's night time :rotfl:

    Tell me about it! :o

We started where we left off yesterday, re-drawing our plans. It was supposed to be for an hour or so, but then we ended up banging bamboo canes into the front garden, fiddling with little bits of card representing beds or sofas and using up lots of tracing paper. Next thing it was lunch time.

After more fiddling, our order of pots (very big) fertilizer and tree stakes arrived..... £95 for a bag of fertilizer!!! The stakes, which were never eco-friendly to send from Lancashire, were wrong, so they were even less eco being sent back! We took the rest outside and spent a few hours staking more of the trees we put in, which was just as well as there are gales forecast.

After that, working in the polytunnel and.... er...strimming. :D

DW is out at the Rural Cinema watching a worthy film, and I'm here, having cooked & eaten a chilli, put the hens to bed and walked the boundary. Its still there! :)
  • Walking the boundary is just following an old country tradition Dave after all:)

and one that's obviously rooted in sound practical reasons it seems. 'Tis usually an annual thing, after which all parties toast things with cider tho' in'it?;)

....and maybe just a few more drinks whilst wassailing away:beer: - just to wish any trees on the boundary a fruitful harvest....

Well it beats ideas of scattering seasalt all round the boundaries....a bit more public and "respectable";) and less likely to inadvertently poison your plants in the process.

I walk the boundary to check that it's still there! :rotfl:

...and to remind myself how lucky I am to have what I have, :D

.....and to see what's what in the animal/plant kingdom,

....and to let Mr Dog know I'm around, :p

    ....and because I can! :)

Crazy weather with me, yellow alert for rain but after each downpour it's warm in the sun! Just hope the plants are getting the benefit, I've been soaked once :(

For us it has been lost in a car. But at least the car got home smelling nice of plants.

Exactly. For us its dog exercise, an ( endless) list of what needs to be done and enjoying it. What's the point if we don't use it and enjoy it.

We chose to day as a day off for a reason, However, we cursed that the morning would have been alright actully to move that last half tonne of soil quickly, and as soon as we got back I went to find a trowel and the heavens opened. Horrid, big cold rain drops that felt like hail.
