Davesnave, hope your little one is having fun at the bridge, but I know at least one dog there that will chase them, but the other one will try to make friends
LiR (((hugs))) I know it isn't easy.
CTC, loving the piglets xGood enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
Sorry, fell asleep!
:o Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts re Poppy the cat, AKA 'Winkle.' :A
Here are the photos mentioned above.
Such green-ness in the first one!
The second one was just snatched from a distance. While the blackbird carried-on behaving naturally, the humans didn't, so I only had the one chance.

Lovely photo's Dave, thanks for posting.
If anyone wants herb plants and are near an Aldi then they are selling 6 packs for £2.99. Mr BD is going into town again this afternoon so I will ask him to pick up some for me.

Bought some viola's from Aldi earlier in the year and they are still looking lovely in the tub I put them in.
Plumber coming today to start on the bathroom - it will be great to get rid of those black tiles.
Would like to plant out some of my seedlings but worried by the dire warnings of frost from the weathermen.
Let the chickens out to scratch around in all the garden yesterday. I gave them strict instructions to dispatch all slugs and snails - so hopefully they have obliged :rotfl:Was a bit mean and did 'the voice of god' from an upstairs window and it was funny watching them rushing around trying to find me. I consoled them a bit later with their treats and Mr BD has ordered them some grapes with the Tesco shop (not that they are spoilt or anything)It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

We have now collected both gifted hutches. One is nearly new - it was only used for about 2 weeks - and the other needs a new roof. It's the more interesting of the two, as it's a two-tier hutch, but it has been sat under a tree and neglected for a couple of years, and before that it had a male rabbit in it so there was a lot of scrubbing needed to be done. However, today I can go and get some wood preserver and paint them both. I'd like to do them in the green that the big chicken house was done in, but they're already more along the Red Cedar colour range and we need some more of that anyway for the garden furniture.
The two-tier hutch's new roof is mostly done. I was able to salvage the edge frames but went and got a sheet of 6mm plywood cut, because all the wood was rotten. There was a very thin framework inside, sandwiched between two pieces of 3mm ply. We've done away with the framework and just used two pieces of 6mm glued together, with 8 panels cut out of the lower one to reduce the weight a little. I think this would just hold a trio of bantams, so it's a versatile thing and worth fixing.

morning all,
the vet came yesterday, a very young girl, looked like she just came out of school lol... but she went straight in, wasn't frieghtened, or even asked what the temp was like on mother pig... she is fine, no mastitis , just a bit sore, and lumpy around her boobies... took her temperature and give her an injection think she said it was like an anti histermean sp??? while all this was going on, the boglets were playing around her feet, and pulling at her waterproofs, so after she finished with mother pig, she was playing with the boglets lol...
after she went, we cut up some trees that we felled last year, so the start of stashing logs have began lol...Work to live= not live to work0 -
The wreck is cut off from the world by fog. I didn't even hear any cars using the road this morning, incredible, There must have been some.
Its that strange kind of dense fog that plays with sound though. I heard a tractor door close as loudly as if it were in the room next door.
Its lifting a bit now, my dogs are eating ribs in the garden and I can see two of them. ( dogs, that is, not ribs). I'll stick my head out and try and see the little'un in a minute.
We have a roofer coming to look at some minor repairs on the main roof soon but I woke in the night and thought ' I wonder how much just doing the damn thing properly ready for future works would cost.
I know it would need some jiggling when the extension is built, but it would leave us able to say, kingspan the roof space, and board it, and use the space. Even if not with a stair case..

LIR... its misty here, but its quite high if that makes sense, but its def making it feel colder..
re- the roof... see what the roofer says, and see what type of quote he gives you.... would it give you peace of mind if it was all done now and if it was done now would it leave you thinking/worrying about other jobs that need doing urgently/Work to live= not live to work0 -
Dull today with a bit of misty rain, it is cold though.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Cleared now, got a wash out on the line, but its not great drying weather, Pits dry but 'blah' not grey just.......nothing ish.
Foxglove tree is surviving so far. Goodness only knows what I should do with it in the future. And the catalpa has finally and reluctantly opened on bud lazily at the tippity top, just to admit its alive, but not rushing. The burnt sugar tree is looking so much better. It took a long time to settle in but now it looks pretty happy..
Tomorrow is a write off because of rain and meetings, but hoping in anycase we might get the fences re set up in the afternoon, maybe some logs.
