I watched the allotment programme and yes, it was pants, really naff. Shan't bother with it again.
I never watch gardening programmes.
Well, I might watch Carol, 'cos she's enthusiastic and just along the road from me, but that's it.
Years ago,Channel 4 did whole programmes on one plant family, and they used to visit people's gardens for an in-depth look too, but nowadays that kind of television would be classed as 'boring.'
It's the gardens and gardeners that I find interesting, not stuff like how to take root cuttings. Anyone can look that up on You Tube....;)0 -
Sorry to hear that you are so stressed, especially with it being your own business as opposed to working for someone else

I agree, they are just copying the Great British Bake off format but it's awful and Fern really annoys me I had to switch it off, if they had normal presenters it might of been better rather than camp or people that are meant to be like Mary Berry so unoriginal.0 -

We saw a Little Owl last week, when driving along the main road at about 9pm.
It was just sitting in the road, so DW needed to brake quite hard to stop in time. It may have been dazzled, but as soon as we pulled-up and dipped the lights, it took off and landed in a tree nearby, apparently not that concerned.
Owls hunt around here frequently, but that's the first time I've seen that species.
Currently not sure if the swallows have arrived yet, as we may only have House Martins. If only they'd stay still! :rotfl:0 -
Smashing pups, lucielle.:T I can see they'll be snapped -up pretty quickly.
Choille, you've returned! :j
I was hoping it was just a dodgy laptop.
Hope you're soon both over whatever you've had & able to join those lambs, frisking about the croft!
Oh wow, more posts and pictures....but duty calls and I'll have to look later.
I did have a lot of probs with laptop - not that old or used much but not much capacity since I've overloaded it with photos for ebay!. It's now had more room made in it - don't understand these things. Seems faster & less problematic.
These last few days have been dry but quite windy, but at least the soggy ground is starting to dry out - the lambs were up to their leg pits in mud...poor things!0 -
We both went out to porch again for about 10 minutes. Could hear the calls, seemed to me from 2 different places - nearer one and farther one. Off to bed now though - only half a trug of weeds at lottie for me today, but it was in previously weeded places. Plus it rained earlier so we were late getting down there to weed.
OH took loads more trugs of weeds to tip though... getting through one of the baths on site. We're planning on using it to grow carrots - anyone got any handy hints?0 -

Carrot fly don't go much above 18," so if the sides of the bath are higher than that.....:D0 -

No, but you'll become even more of a taxi driver!
Older teens will find their own ways of getting around, but all youngsters are far more connected via mobile technology than kids in my generation, which brings its own benefits.... and problems.
Teens who appreciate their own quiet space might actually prefer that buffer of a few miles to the nearest town too, especially if school life is already hectic.0 -
morning all,
thanks for all your lovely support.. managed to do a whole day in work yesterday, so lets see what today brings, not holding my breath,
2 little quail have hatched out of the batch of eggs I bought from ebay this morning, they are tiny lol.. the cats are watching them in the incubator lol..
Yep totally agree that allotment programme is pants... def been based on the great bake off, and sewing bee, I turned over after about 10 mins... totally flop if you ask me..
LIR.. was it a buy it now?? then yes the long distance buying regulation states you can send an item back without any reason for a full refund ( you might have to pay return potage) .. first port of call is always contact the seller and say you want to return the item.. if they refuse you to return the item, you can then put in a claim via ebay or paypal...Work to live= not live to work0 -

Quail babies! Amazing!
Yes , it was a but it now, but delivery has already cost as much or more that the item( part of the gripe was delivery was partly based on weight, this not being what it was meant to be is not the weight it was meant to be) so not keen on oaying more for another courier.0
