Yes, how did yours go CTC? :)

I went in for my blood test, apologising profusely for not turning up yesterday, but she'd not noticed. :rotfl:It's a 5 minute job.

Indeed, she'd no idea why she was taking more blood, so I explained, we looked it up on the 'puter and then got on with it. I then went to reception to find out if any news about the X ray, so the receptionist looked up my notes, told me the basics and decided I might like a telephone call from the doc in a week or so.....:T So, looks like I'm in the clear more or less.

We're a bit laid back here, but I've no complaints, as everything gets done....eventually. I also know that if you really need to see someone urgently, you'll always be seen same day. That's the bottom line, isn't it?;)

    How it should be davesnave.

I think that what's making me cross so frequently is I cannot see people when I need to but get appts for when I don't. I have a letter asking me to call to make a phone appt about gastro appts when I'm sort of focused on the other stuff not and the six weeks drug trial I was meant to go on for that now cannot start because of other tests, so pointless talking about it. I'd rather talk all at once now when I get this set of results.

This blood was to go with sample I'd collected for them the day before:o and had to be done in twenty four hours. Its all a bit urgent because I'm hoping that suspicions are right that the balance has tipped and I might now be a candidate for surgery, pdq.

CTC that would drive me to the edge although I think we may share a similar taste in music :D

I just feel that music is such a deeply personal thing and listening to a genre you dislike especially when it is being played loudly can be really stressful. Occasional parties I don't mind however when I am trying to relax on a sunny day I hate being subjected to it. Not that I would complain, although I did once when local teenagers were playing rude music and my DD was asking what the words meant

Agreed and I have had this sort of query going on for a few weeks now as to what it is or isn't acceptable to send over my own "gardening boundaries" and back again in reverse. I wouldn't dream of sending any sound over my garden boundaries if I could possibly help it, as I regard everyone (myself/my neighbours/etc) as entitled to only have sound within their own sphere that originates from their own sphere iyswim.

So, I think I'm going down okay with my new neighbours on that one and we're all abiding by the same "code". On the other hand, I'm having to do a bit of explaining to a couple of neighbours (and their workman) that within MY boundary is within MY boundary and I'm not too concerned if they genuinely need temporary access only (eg for maintenance of their property), but I don't expect to see other peoples visitors parking in my territory or other peoples workmen just appearing on my territory to get at their property. So the parking is NOT to happen on the one hand and I'm okay about the workmen access on the other hand (provided I'm asked in advance and its not fair to simply assume they can be sent onto my land without checking with me first).

We'll work out a modus operandi yet where they know my territory is "sacred" and they can see that I regard theirs as being so too:cool:

So I do have to say that my view is other peoples noise (including other peoples music) is something I don't expect in my territory personally (including my garden) and I think its the fastest way I can think of to upset the neighbours personally and is exactly what I would do if I took it into my head to upset the neighbours deliberately (hence why I wouldn't do that myself, as its simply not fair to others to do that). I don't do tact. I am absolutely so useless at it that I don't even try most of the time. If I have sat down and objectively asked myself and a couple of good friends (who will give objective views) if something someone else is doing is unreasonable then its Godhelpthem time because I'm after their guts for garters.

That's my own personal take on that, ie that I'd a darn sight sooner "strangle" someone disturbing my peace and quiet than sit there feeling very virtuous because I wouldn't do it myself...

Did I say that I discovered a h u u u ge piece of black polythene buried in the bank by the stream? Well, I did, and there was no way I could dig it out. :(

A few enquiries followed and it turns out this is likely to be one of the silage covers used here when this was a working farm, before the barns were converted. That dates it to pre-1990s.

Anyway, I had a go at it tonight using a blow torch. Seems to be the right approach, but I ran out of gas just when it was getting interesting.....

I've used nematodes on vine weevil, IHS and jolly effective they are too. :D

Rummer, you mentioning dahlias.... I've just remembered, I said I'd send you some! :o:o:o Mine are still in their dustbins full of dry compost, but I'll be exhuming them soon as they're well-overdue. If you still want any.....:)

We just had a Hawk trainer go over, very low. Love to see them - it's usually a sign of good weather when they come and loop the loop and dive over Abersoch. :) .

We get them all, including the helicopters that pop up out of the valley and scare the cattle, but the one that annoys me most just pootles along. It's military and it can pass/re-pass up to 4 times a day, always in good weather.

I can't for the life of me see how flying along in a straight line at a slow cruising speed is doing much for the defence of the realm. It looks suspiciously like 'going out for a ride' to me.

So, I tend to yell at it, tell it to get on and do something vaguely war-like and, above all, stop wasting my taxes! :rotfl:

I never made it out in the garden today however I did go for a walk and it was so warm I was in a t-shirt which was lovely :D

Don't forget the rude gestures Dave. The V sign is a bit ambiguous, as it might be "V for Victory", rather than "V for ef* off". So back turned towards and backside pointing skywards (I'm too much of a lady ....err sometimes/occasionally...to whip jeans down and moon at something like that, but I think bending over and poking backside in air conveys same message). Also taking off footwear and waving it at them conveys a WAY worse one:rotfl:

What else? Howzabout...one hand on left hip and then do an Italian-style, throw left hand up in air, make a "pht" gesture with mouth and tossed head and right hand thrown quickly up in air with dismissive gesture?

Am getting into stride here. The pulling on a loo-chain with right hand gesture is another. Two fingers pointing imitating a gun.

Err....I have a suspicion that I'd remain completely unseen, even if I were to do all those things simultaneously whilst performing a back-flip in a fluorsecent leotard.

To them, I'm just an ant. :o

Talking of things celestial, the International Space Station goes over at 21.03. You could give them a wave!

I'll PM you when I have some names for you to look up, probably when I open those dustbins at the weekend. :)

I was in Exeter for much of today, but might get out for a walk soon. At present, I'm using this web site and its maps to find woodlands worthy of exploring:

    http://visitwoods.org.uk/en/visit-woods/Pages/wood-details.aspx?wood=5455&site=Clapper-Cross-Woods#.U02G7leAnsw

At present its set to one near me. ;) Covers Wales & Scotland too!

I don't mind listening to others' music, it's when I can feel it that I am at the limits of my tolerance. What drives me nuts is noisy engines ragging up and down. It seems as though we all have our personal noise bug bears. I sort of think that so long as its not disturbing most people's sleep, I'll try to live and let live.

I'm a bit worried about the amount of chooks we are accumulating. I've ten gifted Ixworths chicks, orphaned Ixduck (too cute), four homegrown chicks from my test hatch, four geese eggs in the incy. Plus I've come home to a broody goose (on ten-ish eggs) and a broody Pekin pullet. OH has been taking the eggs off the broody pullet, but I think that's so mean....
