Defo... I am going round with a big grin on my face
LIR.. There will be loads of pics on here of the pigs lol.. it might get a bit boring...
Rummer... its a good idea... the boarding of unusual pets, BUT that is a huge responsibility... which I don't think my stress levels could cope with....
So far she was great with us this morning going in and touching the boglets... so maybe all the treats, cwtches and belly rubs have paid off, as they say pigs can be over protective of their babies...
It is def a good size for a first litter.. and as you can see, they are more or less even, no runty one... so fingers crossed for the next few days that they all come on well, and she don't roll on any of them...Work to live= not live to work0 -

If the worst comes to the worst and she rolls on one could you have it as ( sorry to the squeamish) suckling pig?
My mother dreams of the suckling pig of her childhood, something far too expensive to procure now as really you'd have to buy the value of the grown pig minus feed costs from the producer.
Sorry, hope doesn't offend anyone.0 -
it shouldn't offend anyone LIR.. as in reality it does go hand in hand with smallholding/farming..
EDIT... hubby is going to text Alfie the picture lol....
It cant be that much longer now LIR before Alfie is back..... 17th rings a bell for something????Work to live= not live to work0 -
Sensible idea LIR although I hope mummy pig is careful!
There is gorgeous sunshine again here todayI do have to go to the docs however I am hopeful that I will get out to plant up my new things at some point.
One thing that irritates me is that fact that there is so much noise here on sunny days. Usually where I live you could hear a pin drop even though I am in a suburban area. However one scrap of sunshine and there are lawnmowers going, lots of different music playing and the sounds of DIY. Oh and endless shouting, screaming and other people noise. Part of my dream is for the only noise around me to be made by me and mineTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Wish I could say the same Rummer, about "you could hear a pin drop". It's not a noisy area that I'm living in, but I can hear some car noise coming over from a couple of roads nearby  and some planes go overhead nearby:mad: when all I want to hear is birds and the like.
But yep...I can relate to "Why the heck do people get going with lawnmowers, etc, noise the second the sun shines?". There is at least an excuse for the lawnmowers and the DIY noise (as they are doing something useful and the noise is an unfortunate side-effect of it), but music:mad::mad:.
I was having a nice countryish walk nearby the other day and could hear a lawnmower quite clearly coming from somewhere the next set of hills over as far as I could tell and thought "Wonder if that person realises just how far their sound is travelling and disturbing what would be 'peace and quiet' over quite a large radius if it wasn't for them?" Shame, as I was enjoying the fact of being able to walk down a country lane, into another more "major" country lane and not one single car disturbing things:D or expecting pedestrians to get out of their way:D. No car noise. No car fumes. Coulda been 100 years ago, if it hadn't been for that lawnmower.0
