Gentle hugs coming your way, LiR. (((LiR)))
I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten. We've just got the sun here now too, after a grey day with a nasty chilly breeze.
Off out to sit in the sun for a little while... The breeze is still a tad chilly, so have my hat on, and will wrap up in my red scarf too!0 -
LIR Massive hugs. Maybe instead of giving up the dream you could tweak it a bit? Plenty of time to think and we are all here to supportTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0

How easy is it to grow verbena and lobelia from seed? Just wondered if it was worth it or if plug plants would be better.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

LIR..... snuggly hugs to you... I wish I lived closer..so we could be on hand if you needed any help...
A bath and going to bed.. sounds like good medicine...
hope you feel better when you wake up...
went up the ranch earlier to help hubby clear the more of the brick building... the old wood holding up the old metal sheets ( the ones that were left, was well rotten, and when hubby wacked one to loosen it , it snapped and wacked my leg just above my knee, ( and I was standing just outside in the door way) talk about hurt.!!!! a huge mark, scrap, and a massive bruise is coming... cant touch it at mo.. it sooo tender...
sooo hopefully if the weather stays nice... we should finish clearing it out by next weekend, and should put the rest of the roofing sheets on...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Have you got any arnica CTC, helps to bring out the bruises.
Hugs to you Lir, hope things become more tolerable/manageable.
I will put puppy pics on my list for tomorrow, knackered now, been stocktaking all day and still not finished but taken loads of photos to get more items onto ebay.

Hope you have woken refreshed, lir. :A
I know you aren't one to give in to physical challenges, but sometimes it's wisest to heed body messages, rather than soldier on, good weather or not.
Accepting limitations is better than throwing up hands in desperation anyway.
I think I may understand how you feel, because at this time of year, when all the growth starts and there's an exciting pulse of life everywhere, my own excitement is tempered by a feeling of being almost overwhelmed. It always seems a lottery, whether I'll get on top of all the sudden unruly growth. I do, but it's a close-run thing! One year, I might not.
Sensible people would use the experience we've gained, sell up and buy something more appropriate to waning physical abilities, but we'd never agree on location. So, we push on instead.....0 -

Oh, LIR. Sorry you're at a low. This country life certainly requires a level of fitness that I've wondered how it can be sustained long term. Even a short term illness has significant knock on effects. I hurt my back and suddenly mucking out hen houses was a major issue... And sinusitis put me back two weeks. (Incidentally, Rummer, sinusitis was what was causing my toothache).
It strikes me that the Smallholding "Good Life" that is most people's fantasy is pretty time consuming. Dare I suggest, a full time job, but lives are so demanding that there are always other things that get in the way of devoting the time really needed to it. I hope you manage to find an equilibrium, LIR. It's a cliche, but there's nothing more important than your health.
I'm off to my mum's today. Her anxiety issues are causing her huge problems at the mo and she's a bit of a mess. Hopefully, the kids will cheer her up. She's adored by them.
Funny thing. My OH has vetoed ducks for the past year because we don't have the right facilities for them yet. He calls me up the night I left for here with a confession: Er.... the man from the tile shop got wind that we had a heat lamp and brooder full of chicks and arrived at the door with an orphaned two-day old Mallard. So we now have a duck integrating with the chick0 -

Ooh-err.... sorry to hear that.
Try sucking a clove, or if you can bear it, dissolving a paracetamol on the tooth, or both.
Whisky mouthwash works, or at least makes you feel better about it, but not if you are breastfeeding!0
