Still got stocktake to finish. Puppies have started to open their eyes, will try and post some pics later. The mum isn't possessive now so the chaps are spending hours cuddling them, due to get wormed on Tuesday.
At last the fog has lifted, its felt like Groundhog Day all week with the weather being the same. The forecast isn't brill so no chance of getting the washing dry.
Hoping to take DD2 to a friends tomorrow to nick her pony for an hour.
Had Dd1s parents evening and results from her mock As levels not good. How do you motivate somebody who doesn't know what they want to do, except something in Agriculture? Really not enjoying these older teen years. She has started her lambing job today, hope it goes ok. I've also managed to get her a weeks experience at the vets in the summer hols.

There is Highpoint Prison & Mr BD has been there when he was a delivery driver (and got locked in on a couple of occasions when there was an escape )

Yes I have and loved it. Hubby has read all the graphic novels and likes to stop it to tell me how different it is! It's one of my favourite shows. I also love falling skies and Grimm is ok if you're into sci-fi type stuff. My obsession started years ago with buffy lol0 -

You can't motivate them, only ensure they have time and space for study. The rest is up to the young person, and if they can't see the relevance of their subjects, it may not go especially well.
It's only school.;) I say that as someone who never did very well as a school pupil. (Hope I did better as a teacher! :rotfl:)
A bit of worldly experience can work wonders. Many older teens get a bit of that, suddenly see where they are going and return to college, fired-up and far more productive.0 -

Hi all,
glad you got it ok Luceille.. I got loads of them lol...
Fay.. it took my hubby a while to come round to the idea, at first wheni Said i wanted a smallholding, when we were totally up to our eyeballs in debt, he just sort of shrugged his shoulders and said nothing, prob thinking.. I would grow out of it, he even 'humoured' me by driving round to look at empty places for sale... but then when time went on..etc... he started to like the idea. now he loves it... even talks about polytunnels lol..
just nipped back from the ranch.. to get some dry clothes..
piddling it down.. we managed to get half the building cleared, and now has a roof on it... also got gates put up inside to, to use as a barrier etc...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Wow, a busy thread today :j
I have always had a zombie plan :rotfl: hubby has decided that he will team up with a mini skirt wearing supermodel who is capable of clearing zombies without breaking a nail or indeed moving a hair out of place :rotfl:
RAS my magazine has arrived and his approach is exactly what we had planned to do here although we want to keep the beds in place. So thank you for the advice
OK I have questionsfor those that grow veggies. Every year I fail to plant successively and am not really sure how to do it to maximise produce. I ideally want the whole garden working all summer/autumn but not sure timings etc. Does anyone have any advice on how to organise things?

I'd love to see quail pics as well. I googled them yesterday & they look like gorgeous little birds.
Lucielle, I'm having the same problems with my DDs at college. We got their latest reports this morning & DD1 looks like she's (finally!!) on target to get the points she needs for University. DD2 is struggling & it's because she's not putting the work in. Like Dave said, ultimately it's up to them, parents & colleges can only do so much.
You've done really well getting your DD into a vet for work experience, placements like that are like gold dust here. Hope she has a brilliant time.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Forgot to say, I seem to have new raspberry shoots/canes?? popping up all over the place!! :j'A watched potato will never chit'...0

YAY.... dongle now working up the ranch....
quails are lovely BUT they are very 'flighty' ..
put some quail eggs into the incubator earlier on... so will see how hard they are to hatch out, and rear...
Ok , THE News is we are expecting.... this one was not planned... the boglins' must have been having some parties, and not having protection lol...
So we moved the last female boglin to the brick building now... and she is cwtched up in loads of straw... she is big, so cant get comfortable... plus when is lying down you can see the boglets moving their little trotters inside of her...her boobies are filling up..
When we moved her from the run, it took one doughnut lol....
bringing back memories of when we had our show dogs, and ha some litters...
either that or she has a very bad case of worms or windWork to live= not live to work0 -
OOOh what with unexpected puppies. I can look forward to the sound of little trotters!
