    evening all....
have been reading but not much for me to write ...
im feeling a tad better but got no appetite yet which is annoying as i think im hungry but when i look for something to eat, im put off.:o

tomorow i have 2 lads coming to clear and take away all the carp in thier big truck/van ? for an extra £50 [they felt sorry for me] they said they would spend some time here having a big bonfire [anything that can be burnt] and tidy up as well as take away so i bit thier hands off .....:D

poor CTC i do hope you feel better . i think you have had a lot going on and youve got run down.. then all germies hit !!

i walked down the field today with my friends 4yr old grandaughter.
she asked my why horses wear shoes.. i replied " well if you had to walk from here to your mummies house you would want shoes not bare feet" she then said "so why havent these ponies got shoes on"? i said " well its nice if you only walk on grass, bare foot isnt it"
she said " not if theres dog pooop"............:rotfl::rotfl:

I'd be hard pushed to put shoes on a horse again tbh. I think most things I did with MOST but not all of my horses I could have done with them barefoot.

There are now horses racing barefoot, and many more wanting to compete in other disciplines, and only not allowed because the rules demand they wear shoes, :).

We know so much more about feet, and how to maintain them, that so many horses can be kept better barefoot. I also think its better for their feet , their proprioception, their circulation and general health even, not to have shoes on if they can cope.

The only thing is, I do miss the clip clop sound sometimes, :).

Glad you're posting , have been worried.

Now when you say, "up north"........:eek::eek:

A day for heavy waterproof clart & breeks, methinks! :)

Nothing to report here. DW has taken this bug worse than I did, so we've come to a bit of a halt on several fronts.

PP I will try to answer your PM tonight. ;)

I feel like Rummer tapping my foot impatiently ;) but......

Anyone being brave enough or any direct sowings? I'm not veg planing, but I have some nasturtiums and marigolds I'd like to get sown in situ ASAP. Looks on long range forecasts like cold risks right up to end of month but nothing below zero......

Fairly heavy frost here last night.

lir - have you considered putting something ground for a week to dry out the soil a bit and warm it up. Ordinary marigolds will cope with frost if it does come later.

    Two frosts all winter. :(
    Not healthy IMO.

Looks like a long cool spring on long range forecasts, like last year. Grim, slow start for the garden.

I'm thinking of putting them in troughs, so, direct sowing to where they will grow, but because we have only just filled, not water logged. I might get on with it then. Something done.

When it does dry up we're going to need to get on the beds and weeding and all time there realistically.
