    I've been Money Tipped!
Road side hedges cut. Tried inside, still too wet. Might have to leave it this year. :). Second year in a row. Wildlife hedges. :).
  • Some early colour in the conservatory, a warm day releases plenty of scent from the hyacinths.

    Snap! :o

The only hedging I've done in the fields is on t'other side where it drops down to the stream, so we can't see most of it. Oh, and up at the Dog End where we ripped out the brambles etc and fenced it off. No laying at all. Still loads to burn.

Hoping we can begin planting trees soon. Yesterday we both felt unwell, (DW got my bug :o) so nothing done till the afternoon, when I started my main seed sowing. Will continue that today if I still feel fragile, but I'm definitely on the mend now. :D

Might go out tomorrow, as Western Power have another planned outage lasting 8-5. Nothing going on here, but they'll be up on the ridge and beyond where their poles spoil our only view of Dartmoor. :(

PP there's a part of me that would have given the Highlands a go, or maybe just somewhere in the tamer bit between Oban and Dunoon.....My cousin's up there, not far from choille, and despite murmurings in the family, he's obviously had the last laugh. He can afford to live anywhere he likes. :)

Edit: Just remembered - BiL + partner survived living in their caravan at the weekend, down in the yard. They will have been noticed.;) We'll possibly get a visit from some council chappie soon, checking up on our 'holiday rental.' :rotfl:

It hasn't felt that long to us. Just wet! It was mild through autumn really, our winter grazing is greener than usual, even before the rain and enforced resting of it.

Who I feel sorry for are the people like neighbours who are running out of feed. Not a problem here at all. :).

Nice morning, shame about mid-afternoon!

I was up at the Dog End, tidying, when Mr Dog stuck his head over his leylandii hedge and called me a rude name.:p By the time I'd processed the greeting, he was vanishing. It's the first communication we've almost had in over 2 years. :(

I was only pootling about, because I'd spent all morning up there and lost a trowel, but once that happened, I couldn't leave, or it would look like I'd felt intimidated......

Then this very dark cloud got closer....and closer and it began to ....hail!

Too late! I was off across the field like....well probably like an overwrapped pensioner in wellies, so by the time I reached home I was drenched.

Into the polytunnel now to sow more seeds. That's enough excitement for one day. :)

Well I think Spring has sprung here in south east Scotland. Loads of snowdrops, aconites, hellebores, iris, crocus, polyanthus and pansies flowering in my garden. Also all of a sudden my Tete a Tete daffs have started to pop open and even more surprising I have a small clump of tulips about to flower!

DH cut the grass after lunch and I have trimmed the edges - garden is starting to look very colourful.

Hi all have just caught up.

    Alfie hope you're feeling better.

CTC sorry to hear that work is being a pain
Dave hope you're all dried out
FK good to hear from you
    PP sounds exciting
LIR glad the fields aren't looking to bare.

Went to a meeting last night about advertising using social media (FB twitter etc). Now need to action all the points that were made and go and do it!!!

OH went to a meeting this morning about selling to the M.O.D, need to think about that one. Sold first John Deere ride on!

Hens are still laying. DS2 has just come in with somebodies chainsaw left on the step, need to play detective and find out whose it is and what needs doing to it.

    Off to play badminton tonight.

Dave How rude  I did chuckle though at the thought of you racing across the field in the rain! Oh and you know I can't resist asking, what are you sowing?

Alfie How are you feeling? Any better? I hope you are resting and taking good care of yourself.

Hubby cleared all the things that were piled in the garden waiting for the cleansing department so it is looking much tidier already. The strong winds the other day blew loads of rubbish back into the garden :( so I am going to put my litter picker to good use over the next few days.

Not planted anything up yet as the weather here is really wet and I am going to wait until March/April to sow things as I have been eager in the past and then everything has died before making it into the ground. Plus we still have loads of panels missing in the greenhouse and I have yet to get round to replacing them as nowhere nearby sells it.

I found some planting plans for the borders we are looking to fill on the Crocus website well worth having a look at for some ideas.

Rumlet is under the weather so I am housebound and spending my time planning and scheming the future of the garden :D Now I just need a high amount of money :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh Dave (and anyone else) we used to have a bush in our garden that in spring/summer was covered in tiny bright blue flowers, I think it may have been spiky too. We lost it after a hard winter and would love to replace it but we don't know what it is called.
