We were without power again all day, but so far there have been no glitches after the switch-on at 5pm.:)

I used to think someone threw a switch somewhere, but no, they just earth the 11 000 volt cable with thick wires, and switching on again means someone climbing a pole and unhitching the earth wires with a long pole thing.

    Looked decidedly dodgy!
  • Morning all,

Wasn't too well last night, freezing cold, sick, poo, bad throat.. etc.. this morning just a dry sort of sore throat, headache... so will see how the day pans out..

The bay is doing ok, but only got low end priced things on there.. so need to do a bit of a mixture of price wise of things..

Davesnave when will you be planting your peas?? will you plant them straight out, or in pots etc???

    Alfie, how you feeling today???

I always plant my peas in pots and transfer in case the mice get them. Also, I never know where they are going!:o

Hope alfie is feeling better too, and certainly better than you were last night! :A

Lots of bugs about. DW is still shaking my last one off. :o

Just a quick note to say wont be in touch for a bit as we're off to a wedding in Cambridge.

Alfie, hope you are beginning to feel at least a bit better - it may take a while. :(

CTC hope you feel better soon too! Dear me, what a load of crocks we seem to be at the mo! ;)

Thank you for letting us know Maggie, I do worry when we haven't heard from people for a while. Speaking of that any word from Rhiwfield or Itisme?

CTC I always plant my peas in pots/loo rolls as planting things in wee rows indoors makes me happy :D I am always nervous planting things straight into the ground as I am sure slugs just wait for the first hint of green so they can hoover them up :rotfl:

The weather here has been wild today! Lashing rain, hail, snow and long stretches of glorious sunshine never the same thing twice. We even managed a long walk in the park which was lovely :D

Hoping to get out in the garden this weekend as the forecast is for sunshine.

    PM away, Poppy.

Not sure how compus mentis I shall be tonight though, as I did the supermarket run on top of the usual chores today. :o:D

Yes, Rummer, we had the weird weather too. It was a lovely spring morning in Bideford, but when I came out of the supermarket in Barnstaple it was completely different....torrential rain. Going home, white fields of hail....big lumps too!

im feeling a tad better but got no appetite yet which is annoying as i think im hungry but when i look for something to eat, im put off.:o

tomorow i have 2 lads coming to clear and take away all the carp in thier big truck/van ? for an extra £50 [they felt sorry for me] they said they would spend some time here having a big bonfire [anything that can be burnt] and tidy up as well as take away so i bit thier hands off .....:D

poor CTC i do hope you feel better . i think you have had a lot going on and youve got run down.. then all germies hit !!

i walked down the field today with my friends 4yr old grandaughter.
she asked my why horses wear shoes.. i replied " well if you had to walk from here to your mummies house you would want shoes not bare feet" she then said "so why havent these ponies got shoes on"? i said " well its nice if you only walk on grass, bare foot isnt it"
she said " not if theres dog pooop"............:rotfl::rotfl:
