Oh b*/gger alfie, that isn't good if you mean Weil's disease, (there is a Wells' syndrome.....quite different.)
If it's the former, your sewage problem could be the source, but equally it could be one of the animals.
You must rest.Have the hospital arranged any help for you?

Popped into one of Glasgow's larger garden centres today, it was rather quiet...
Anyhow, picked up a spurge, photinia and some primroses - I'd only gone to get some vermiculite to mix with compost to start off the dhalias for cuttings.0 -

Sorry for going AWOL on you guys, I will try to explain tomoz maybe when I've had some sleep..but I seem to have my mojo back now.
So now that I'm all caught up (I did skim the last 250 odd pages !!!) I'd better say, in no particular order
rummer congrats on the safe arrival of the rumlet, hope things are settling down
Dave well done on the panto, missed the pics but I can well imagine. Lots been happening with you too
rozzee well done on keeping sane, there's light at the end now...
Alfie sooooo much going on, hope your meds kick in soon and you can get back to the exciting move
CTC can't believe we haven't bumped in to each other, I haven't broken down in your local petrol station since you last rescued me! Really sorry I missed some meet-ups, hope to rectify that...perhaps we should partake of a cuppa and some nice biskwits?
I've gone blank, forgotten lots of you, all I can say is everyone's come through some really challenging times this past few months, life's rich tapestry eh?
Oh and Nice to see plenty of new peeps too, will properly reintroduce myself in the morning. Oh it is the morning, guess I'd better get some sleep, be daytime in 6 hours...hugs to all0 -
Good to see you back on board, ferretkeeper. :hello: More Panto pics to follow when the official ones come out, maybe on my Photostream, rather than here..;)
I've decided not to pursue the leccy people over the broken fence. We can treat this as an opportunity, as their 'gift' will easily cover an extension of the chicken run into the orchard.
As to the orchard itself, time will tell what's happening there, but the middle part is still very waterlogged. That's where trees have died in the past few years, so that area may have a different long term future.
It's quite fascinating how the land here has subtly altered in places, even during our short period of residence. The place where the PO planted willows is now dry, but this can't be because of their presence. They haven't been doing much transpiration in the past 4 months!0 -
OMG Alfie....
please take care... I know we supposed to have come down again this weekend... but we have had more staff off, ( including laying off son) and TBH Since Thursday I have been not far off a mega melt down...just in a total blur at mo,
FK ... nice to hear from you..... Could def do with a catch up, and a cuppa.... how you doing with the pigs??Work to live= not live to work0 -
Looking tentatively gardenwards, as I see some daylight on the horizon that the house itself should have got to habitable standard over the next few weeks.
So, I've got a wormery kit en route and loads of extra worms as well to scatter randomly around the earth in my garden. There's two things I've seen very few indeed of since moving in. One is slugs (for which I am very thankful:T), though one I did spot was an absolute giant unlike owt I've ever seen before and must have been at least 6" long (that quickly met a salty grave).
The other thing is worms. I've seen very few of them indeed and have got the general idea they are A Good Thing to have plenty of in a garden to help aerate/nourish the soil. Goodness knows this soil must need aerating (as its clay soil and I've been having to break up some distinct clumps).
Guessing it's a good plan to get on in there with a hoe and remove all stray weeds (well the ones I don't recognise as edible then). There is quite a bit of bittercress there, but I recognise that as food and so will regard it as a free crop, but the rest are just plain weeds of no use to me at all, so I'm guessing I can use my hoe at them and remove them (even though the soil is more than a little waterlogged at present) and then start "burying" all these extra worms strategically round the garden??
Does that sound like a plan?0
