The sausages were delicious so worth having again as a treat.

Really cold here the last few days and snow showers are in our future which will keep me indoors :(

Does anyone wear those shower proof walkers trousers? I have been doing a lot of walking but am poorly equipped for foul weather and feel proper water proof trousers would be excessive in the park:rotfl: Also need to get a comfy pair of walking trainers as the sole came off mine. Any recommendations?
I wear the Karrimor trainers which are waterproof and comfortable.

All sorts of weather today, woke up to a dusting of snow, then some sun, now it's torrential rain again :(

Only cheer is in the conservatory, moved the hyacinths there so they last longer than in the house. The small helebores and alpine were going at 50% in B&Q, so they'll get planted out (eventually).

The agave offsets seem to have taken. With the season so short in Scotland, am thinking of experimenting and increase watering of a few cannas to start them off and try for flowers in July and not Sep like last year!

Also got some Nicotiana sylvestris seeds off t'Bay so will start them in propagator in conservatory

From all your problems, I'd be surprised if they don't just want you to go quietly, but be aware that you are may need to give a minimum of one month's notice from the tenancy start date and my tenants often fall foul of this. Check your tenancy agreement about notice periods. It's often the standard clause from these off the shelf agreements. It's a ridiculously clumsy rule, and I don't enforce if, but if it's there, landlords are entitled to.

It works like this: If the tenancy start date is the 1st and you give notice on the 1st February, then it's a month's notice, if you gave notice on the 30th January, say, the notice would be until the 1st of the following month (February). If you gave notice on the 2nd January, you have missed the deadline of that month and the "minimum month's notice from the tenancy start date" would mean that you would have to pay rent until the end of Fenruary. I don't know if that makes sense. You can see why people get confused about it.

Do you think you can go mad because of too much rain? I feel a bit deranged at the moment.

yes because they put me on this rolling monthly lease in 2012 , albeit they did it wrong, i have given one months from the 31st jan and paid till end of feb. as its 1 month not 30/31 days.
as i read it if i gave it on the 1st feb that would not leave a CLEAR month and that would be taken as till the end of march !!

    hi all :D

wow what a hairy scary night that was....
i have never seen so much water steaming down the roads surrounding me and as i had dropped son and friend off in town earlier and promised to pick them up 1.30 am i drove through it and held my breath.
gravel drives were washed across the road and even dustbins were floating. the river at lymington was across the bridge .

my trusty renault steed managed to get through but i inhaled big time !!!!

My OH doesn't do cooped up in a caravan very well. It sends him a bit deranged. Obviously, it wouldn't be an issue if we didn't have three small children to referee. He wants to go out to the beach in this weather! Crrrazy!

I'd be the same. Five days of the Outlaws and I'll be begging for a ten mile ramble in the rain! :rotfl:

We gave up today and went out, just to do a bit of shopping and have fish & chips.....Then, we had a phone call from the Outlaws to say they'd come back and couldn't get in....something wrong with the lock.

It only took us 45 minutes to get home! :o:rotfl:

There was something wrong; a piece inside the lock had fallen out of position and blocked the keyhole. Luckily, I managed to get in by a very alternative route without breaking anything. I've now twiddled from the inside and achieved a temporary fix. :D

Tomorrow we'll pull the lock to bits and see what's what. New lock, probably. :(

Please keep safe all of you in this scary weather. It is not too bad up here and we even managed a quick walk in the park today before torrential rain hit.

Rummer I wear waterproof overtrousers when I walk the dog in the wet otherwise I would be getting changed several times a day some days :/
They were about a tenner from Field and Trek. I also managed to get some tracksuit type ones from a charity shop, but they are lined so not so good to just pull on over your everyday clothes. Good if you have to be out for a while though.

Its just easier for me to do that. I find water proof stud makes me clautrophobic.
