Ixworth's are very fine birds Rozeeopzee - I have a soft spot for them as I used to live in Ixworth. As you say though, not easy to get hold of.
My ex-bats are doing well and thoroughly enjoying the warm mash I take them in the afternoons. And it is still light at 4.30 pm which is very welcome.
The cats decided that toilet roll shredding is great fun - cat toys and cat climbing frame all spurned:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Oh dear better days, not so funny.
Its been a pretty afternoon here. I automatically just went to close all th front curtains and realised how pretty it still is. Closed them anyway , as it will darken in an hour and sooner that side than the other. But I'm in the cheese room with dogs just have a hot drink while dogs have supper and its beautifully watery light.0 -

Essentially it's good news: no diabetes, no kidney or liver problems and a couple of reasonable blood pressure readings while I was there.....but there's a bit of bad cholesterol:(.....and my weight.
Did I get enough exercise?
I thought "Well, much more than you do, sitting in here, mate!":rotfl:
I've shed 4lbs since I last visited, but did he weigh me?
Nah! :wall:
He's given me a low dose of statins. I'd grumble, but a couple of people reasonably close to me have had bad medical news in the past week or so, so I'll shut up.:silenced:
Off to Google Ixworths.......0 -

I never tire of listening to chickens cluck. It's very therapeutic - (and certainly preferable to listening to Michael Gove witter on.) I love the excited clucking when you throw down some treats and the contented chuckling when they are just scratching around.
Have had lots of kitties over the years but these are the first with a toilet roll fetish.
Good news re your health check Davesnave :j:j:j. Some statins do have unwelcome side effects but there are a few you can try so you can always go back to your GP if your current ones don't suit. Four pounds is a good amount to lose I'll give you a :T:T:T even if the doctor didn't bother. It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Is all okay LIR? That looked to be a hasty exit.
Ixworths are fab, Dave. Really good dual purpose birds. As a pure breed layer, only Sussex lay more prolifically. Apparently, the meat is very tasty too. Getting hold of them is the problem. The majority of breeders seem to be in the East and one of the highly regarded breeders is in the Highlands with a waiting list for eggs a mile long. Interestingly, though, I've found the proper rare breed fanciers to be really friendly and as helpful as can be supporting a newcomer. They just want to keep the breed alive.
I'm hoping to get some more pullets. Apparently, the male birds are very sexually active!!! Mines a bit young yet though.... I can't wait for the hatching season. My son loves the birds too and it gives him a real sense of responsibility and pride looking after them. If, once they start mating, you need any hatching eggs, Dave, let me know.0 -
Persons car scraped off road now. Happens a bit.
Forgotten what I was saying though,...,,.0
