Alfie - hope your Mum's check went well. You certainly have plenty of ammo to keep Mr BUHA on the run.
After two months of backache I have given in and ordered a new bed and mattress. Both have a lead time of three weeks, then I hope, I will be sleeping a bit better. Poor Mr BD got it with both barrels this morning as I was so crabby from poor sleep and a painful back. All forgotten now
Got a cracking quote of £7,600 for replacing 15 windows, patio doors and two other doors (inc VAT) so I think we are going to go ahead. It will hopefully cut down on the draughts which have been really noticeable in the windy weather.
Next job is to get some quotes to get the oil tank replaced. I hope the new tank can go where the old one is but I suspect there will be 'elf and safety restrictions as it is near the house and garage. We will see.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Alf, I cannot get down on Thursday otherwise I'd offer,:(. But I definitely think this time you should have someone there if possible as well as the other measures.
Just in case there might be attempt to 'push' a bit. I don't suppose that environmental man can pop back too, can he?0 -

This show we are doing in Farnborough, we have put you down as an employee Alfie, so if you do decide to come over, you can get in for free....and will have your very own name badge....lol...
Sneaked off work early to go to hobbycraft to have a nose, and get some crafty ideas, after that I went to the ££££ shop next door to it... they had blackcurrents, raspberries and gooseberries for £1 each... didn't buy any, as I want to work out where I will plant them first... so might go to again next week, to see if they have had anymore, and other gardening stuff in..
when is Farn B show ?? so i can pencil it in ones diary so as not to double book ones self....One will be POSH by then when one is living in ones posh 'ouse

It's hooley time here, with fierce winds winding themselves up now. If you haven't got this yet, it probably won't be long. I'd rather have it at this end of the night, though!
Lots of people losing leccy in Cornwall, so it might be us next. Had a letter today to say Western Power will be renewing the lines here next Tuesday.....
Hmmmm, I wonder? They could well be busy elsewhere.0 -
Yep, rough here now too. It would be ironic if I lose my line now, so close to the replacement.0

Here's a picture of next door's sheep trashing my stream garden today.
I've been waiting for them to come through into here. I knew it wouldn't be long. Luckily, our old fence is still just about there, or they'd have been into the copse area.
We can go see the neighbour now. He won't be able to shrug it off.
The plants in here will recover....eventually. As for the sheep, they've apparently eaten hellebores and some arums that were just surfacing!
Notice how tidy my other neighbour is? (background) That's why I'm quite keen to get a few evergreens in here!0 -
Ok,
Colour input from nesting dreamers.
Utility room is painted dead salmon. http://www.farrow-ball.com/dead-salmon/colours/farrow-ball/fcp-product/100028
I have some beautiful fabric in a sort of terracotta and gold with animals on it which I'm going to have made into a roller blind. ( I can add a pic if required!)
I have a dresser to paint to go In there (the wooden one opposite the loo) and I simply cannot decide what colour. If it were not going to be main route in from garden and wet dog holding room, i'd go lime white or shaded white. But I think it likely this will spend eight months a year causing me distress if painted a pale colour.....0
