Looks like you have had a real battering in Wales CTC.

Well, I thought tomorrow was going to be the day for jobs outside; now looks dire. Hope I can get something done on Sunday.

In the mean-time the joys of spring cleaning or whatever you call it when you have had several months not being able to do much cleaning.

My thoughts with rummer and rumlet.

And lir how is big dog?

As CTC says, keep safe; my thoughts are with the families of those who have gone missing in these storms and floods.

Hope all goes well for you Rummer and Rumlet....exciting times.

Started off sunny here, but that didn't last. Had rumble of thunder and nasty hailstorm which Mr BD got caught in whilst delivering the post on the over 55's Park Homes site (caravans to you and me :D, but the residents get very uppity if you mention the 'c' word)

Dave has your road flooded after the work was done to improve the drainage? Alfie I don't think I dare ask how your drainage problems are in all this rain - it must be awful :mad::mad: for you.

Struggling with my symptoms which always worsen in the winter, (haven't left the house since we moved at beginning of December), and this house is harder to keep warm than our previous bungalows. Our 'window man' should be coming next week to give us a quote, and when they are done it should cut down on the draughts.

So I invested in an electric blanket which I have on all day and it has helped a lot. Mr BD lights a fire every afternoon and we have been burning wood, coal, and heatlogs along with waste paper. It is very relaxing watching the flames and an improvement on much of what is on the TV.

A nice man from EON came at lunchtime and replaced the elderly E7 meter which had a whirling wheels which looked a bit like the innards of a clock with a shiny new digital meter. So no longer E7 here :)

Been putting together a letter to VOA to appeal against the Council Tax band this house is in, any of you had success in getting a property re banded?

Meant to add have you seen this website
    http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/orthographic=-3.24,52.25,2022

It's hypnotic - a friend sent me the link and I have been watching it on an off all day. (Sad I know :rotfl:)

If you click on a spot it gives you the wind speed and latitude and longitude.

Like everyone else, my thoughts are with Rummer, Rumlet...... and Mr Rummer too! ;)

It may have been a bit wild today, but from my POV that's an invitation to do non land-related stuff....like shopping. Then, when things return to normal(ish,) I won't be forced to waste time on buying food etc. That's the theory anyway. :)

I don't think we've had such extreme weather as some places, though, as the rivers here are still within banks and even the Tarka line is functioning. :T

The road hasn't yet flooded, Better Days, but I noticed the gully was full to the top today. The water has a long way to go, as the underground pipes follow the road right down the side of our land till they reach a point just before Mr Dog. There, by some miracle of plumbing, the run-off is combined with water from elsewhere and the mixture comes out of a pipe into our stream. So, there's a lot of water trying to get away, and relatively small pipes carrying it, but it seems to work. :)
