  • Have you got a link to that British couple... sounds interesting..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXVnAMQRGbI

Its three short films there and the third one is about them. It comes up at about 32 minutes in.

If anyone has any other YouTube links to ones about permaculture in ordinary British homes please share...:). There's loads of links on permaculture as a whole, but they are often American or Australian and I want to watch ones most relevant to where I am personally.

I'm having a lovely day - sitting about eating rubbish and watching gardening on youtube. Can't even be assed to go through the kitchen to make tea, but in my mind I'm out there on the prairie at the homestead gently hoeing acres of huge perfect veg... :D:D

    Right.....

We're off to try and get mistletoe to take in the limes.

    Wish me luck!

  • Can hardly believe it, sun in Glasgow! Mind you, it's so low in the sky it's barely above the trees, but after weeks of gloom it's welcome.

After some robust discussion we have put a fair few seeds in one lime and none in the other. We can see how successful we are and attack the other next year.

They are absolutely covered in new bud and shoot, The blaze of coral red is almost as violent as the dog wood. Looking up into the rich clear bright blue sky we have today was breathtaking, that coral against blue, but I tried to photo it for you all and it came out distinctly muted :(. Looking down a little, but keeping the blue and coral in eye, you can add the now slightly dulled to mustard yellow of the willows behind. Branches are astounding in their colour aren't they?

There is so much life out in my borders I'm a little concerned. I'm guessing that if this continues the fruit might take another bashing. Speaking of fruit. I need to do my soft fruit pruning.... I could probably whizz through the currant tomorrow.....I didn't do them last year so they are rather leggy, but they were very productive!

Hmmmm..... Boxing Day and I have been moving paving slabs and fence rails. I'm sure there is a law against that. :(:(

It was lovely outside, but a greyness has descended in the last hour, so I think it might be grab the logs and call it a day. :o

    Its beautiful here.

First thing vaguely resembling a crunchy frost this morning, and clear skies now, so maybe another?
