Bright sunshine here and it was quite warm until a blustery north-wester set in.
Went to have a scan for aortic aneurysm today, which was a bit scary, because my Dad nearly died from his and genetic influence can be significant.....but I'm fine.
Apparently they do it to all men of a 'certain age' now.
Having a clear out in my workshop. It all started when I wanted to make up a load of Dexion shelving that I used to have in the shed at the old place, but all (about 10) uprights have vanished.:( I have the shelves.....:o
I like the pond. You can grow fish in ponds, though pond fish might be an acquired taste.
Edit: We have as heating chappie coming here next week too.;)0 -
Stitchy - soooooo so proud of you for walking out! Stay strong, you know we're all here cheering you on  You're doing the right thing, as others have said, by taking some time before the Wales move.
Best of luck to you honey!! :A
The job's going fine so far, enough to keep me interested for now. It was a bit rough to start with and I felt very out of place, but better towards the end of last week and onwards.
Nothing happening on the daydream front, but patience is a virtue (allegedly).

Well you will all be relieved to hear that I have started my annual gardening reading and planning
currently reading Allotted Time which CTC recommended and I have hauled out the WWII gardening books which are always a pleasure to read. It will be a while before I bring out Allotment Month by Month and my Alys Fowler books but I know they are waiting patiently

With just skim reading it, it looks as though the government encouraged solar panels, by giving grants/funds etc, but it looks as though they are realising energy companies and themselves are now losing out on income/taxes etc..
in this country log burners etc that are popular now, do you think it will not be long before our government realise that there is a load of wood being used as fuel, and they are not getting a penny tax on it etc, and start putting a some sort of tax scheme in place??
I know we have briefly talked about this a long while ago, but now that there is a huge increase in people using log burners etc.. just wondering if you think some sort of tax will be added somewhere along the line??Work to live= not live to work0 -
CTC, wood/logs sales currently attract VAT at 5% atm, same as for gas, leccy and oil.
Solar production atm gets no tax. FITs are tax free atm so a useful income. I could see the tax status of these change in due course for new installations
Stitchy, welcome back!!0 -

there are loads of us who get our wood for nothing, so not paying any tax on that fuel source...Work to live= not live to work0
