OMG:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: BD... what would happen if they change their minds and decline?????
I really wish things would go back to the old style of banking, where you had a bank manager who knew you, and made the decisions... not some snotty nose git, who sits in an office all day, and just files through bloody paperwork etc..:mad::mad::mad:
Keep us update BD... flip this house buy has been an emotional roller coaster for you...:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:Work to live= not live to work0 -
Once the Environment Agency get hold of something they don't let go, alfie!

A friend of mine reported an overflowing cesspit. The EA traced where it was going and put an immediate order out that it should be emptied and then changed. It was the tank for multiple properties, two of which were up for sale and had to be pulled from the market. (Did I say this before? I'm so doddery these days I can't remember! :rotfl:)
Better Days, I hope it works out OK. I expect it will, as mortgages are getting easier to obtain, rather than more difficult. In fact I hear 5% deposits are back in fashion.....Will they never learn?

Hmmmmm....Not sure when it was, but I realised those days had gone when ours, a sort-of-friend, had me in to "see how we can help you."
After reviewing our finances, which were in order, with no outstanding debts, he felt the only way he could assist was with a nice loan......nice for the bank that is, at some horrendous interest rate!
I said, "If this is what you do for your friends, I'd hate to see the offers you make to those that you don't like so much!"
I never spoke to anyone in that bank again and took our money elsewhere. It wasn't any loss, because even the regular staff would try to talk you into something or other if you dared to make eye contact.0 -
Thanks CTC for the hugs :A and Dave
:):)
Nothing from FD underwriters yet. The LTV is low so I really can't understand why FD are getting twitchy.
The mortgage means we can afford to do things like the boiler replacement (it's vintage from the 1980's), replace rusty oil tank and windows replacement etc. Without the mortgage I will have to move funds around from long term savings which will have to be sorted out in good time. Plus it will b*gger up our plans for sorting out the house, then moving on in a couple of years.
It could be worse, but I am physically and emotionally exhausted and could just do without the hassle.
Got away from it all yesterday and spent an hour at a friends with an impossibly cute dog that she had just rehomed cuddled up on my lap. The unconditional affection of animals can be very theraputic. The RSPCA had collected about 20 dogs a few weeks ago as a result of a report of someone selling puppies out of a car boot. Unfortunately the person got wind of the RSPCA interest and no one knows what happened to this dogs puppies - she was clearly still nursing them until just before the RSPCA arrived. Given the dreadful life this poor dog had she was so calm and all she wants is cuddles. I was happy to oblige
:D:D It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Quiet in here today!
Here at Snave Acres its been another pretty decent day, the early stiff breeze and sunshine drying the grass and allowing me to mow & strim this afternoon.
But it's officially winter now, as the Aga has been cleaned out and lit by another of our versatile postmen. :T0 -

Hello everyone..sorry I've been missing in action...you know what happens when theres work to be done, and you're the main earner. You go and get ill! And in my case I don't do things by halves. LFS massive hugs!!! How scary that must have all been! Time to embrace your inner diva and direct people to do things for you
Might be the time to catch up on all those TV series you haven't got round to watching on to take up a new hobby like crochet or painting.
Sounds as if they caught it just in time though which is something to be thankful for
I will be around a lot for the next few months so you and I can plan our gardens and day dream from the couch while the others work away tirelessly as always
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
