what a flipping day weather wise:eek::eek::eek::eek:
heavy, cold rain, with hail thrown in on times, good job it wasn't snow.
Davesnave I am with you on your thoughts, to anyone lurking, and are saving/dreaming of a smallholding def look for somewhere that has a wooded/tree area, or has scope to plant some..
over the winter/spring we will be thinning out, cutting out deadwood etc and seeing where we can potentially plant some new quick growing stuff etcWork to live= not live to work0 -
There are grants going to plant indigenous woodland at the moment to help with costs if you have a bit of land. If like here you have deer or goats you have to deer fence & that's expensive ....as I know.......0

Anyone who's grown the big miscanthus may know that if you change your mind, they're not the easiest things to get rid of. Pick axe wasn't even touching it. So, sodium chlorate and a year to rot down a bit was the technique I used!

I'm concerned about Pete. He may be fine, but he's not rung or called-by since I visited him over two weeks ago.
At that time he was still very down over the bad year he'd had. It's cash flow which hits folk like him. Keeping all the plates spinning must be a nightmare.

I will, if I don't see him/hear by Sunday.
I'm tied-up myself till then.
The trouble is I told him we had some events to attend on the two coming weekends, but only on one day of each.
That was possibly remembered as, "Dave's away for the next two weekends."

Well I think I could do with smoking a bit of something for some escape from reality. Anything will do......
Had a call from my bank on Monday. As it is 5 months since they approved the mortgage they now want some more info. So DH took the info down to HSBC Monday afternoon so it could go in the internal mail to First Direct.
FD only got the info scanned onto their system yesterday evening and now has to go to the underwriters for them to flip a coin and decide if they will actually give us the mortgage.
I have said somewhat testily (and justified I think) that as we are between exchange and completion I would be very grateful if they could make their minds up quickly.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
