Alfie, sorry to hear your dad is still down, hopefully seeing you both will perk him up a bit. I bet your son is furious, at least he got to see the gig though. If I had the space I would be filling it with animals too
We bought the paint for the dining room before I fell pregnant and since we own it we thought we would use it as it is Mellow Sage (crown) and a neutral colour ideal for a nursery. Only problem is, I don't like it anymoreWe saw it is another home and loved the colour on the walls but it was bought for a dining room and it just doesn't make my heart sing in the nursery. Well it is done now and when baby is older we can redecorate to suit his interests.

Although the rain and thunder didn't last into the afternoon, the wet ground really kyboshed my foundation building, which is also body-building, because I'm sieving every spadeful that comes out! We have lots of stones here and light soil, so it doesn't usually take long to do a barrow load of lovely top soil. All the sieved soil has gone to places where it's needed for levelling, so nothing's wasted.
So, instead of building, we went into the polytunnel and took down the tomatoes, which were running wild, and cut down around 1/3 of the peppers. Then I booted out all the hardy perennials that had crept in there and propagated themselves mysteriously.:rotfl: Now we have room for the more sensitive plants that will need to go indoors soon.
Most recent propagating is for the stream garden, which was such a dismal failure this year. I figure that it will need an injection of around 200 plants to make any impact, and as I've only put in around 50, half of which have died, there's a bit of ground to make up.There are some nice wild ones there too now, like campion and a veronica, but the improvement in light levels is still too recent to have had much effect.
Rumlet won't care what colour his walls are, Rummer, but maybe a nice green will have a subliminal effect and he will grow up to be interested in all things natural.
Bad about the phone, Alfie. Tis a long way from the days of peace & love, when you could leave your stuff in the middle of a crowd of thousands, even in London, and be pretty sure it would still be there when you returned from a trek to the bogs. Mind you, that 'stuff' would only have been worth about ten bob!!! :rotfl:0 -
DS1 went to a Young Farmers dog trial today (she's never done trialling before). He came third!!!! Though it was a cross between something from James Herriot and nothing like one man and his dog. It was good fun though!

Oooeer - the moon has moved!
Just took the dog out for a wee and the moon is to the left of where it usually is. Is there an astronomical explanation for this? Has the moon moved over your way? Or am I going batty?
Sorry to hear about your son's phone Alfie  Theft is so lazy - why can't the sods work for things they want like everyone else?
Rummer - at our last house I sent Mr BD out to buy some cream paint for the spare room - he came back with one of those tints one which was sage. Couldn't be bothered to take it back but it looked nice up although I would never have chosen it - very calming.
Well done DS1 Lucielle!
IHS - That is a very pretty geranium it must be happy there.
Dave - what happened to your stream garden, why did you lose so many plants? It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
