BUT on a good note, remember the scumbags who broke into our place back in June... WELL, to lesson their sentence their solicitor recommended they tell the police where the rest of our stuff was, so we have had most of it back:j:j:j:j:j

Excellent news CTC very pleased for you :j:j
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

    That's good news CTC.

Major family problems here regarding my mum, feeling quite overwhelmed by it all. Had a very acrimonious meeting with my sister last night, ended up walking out.

Anyway the weather is going to play ball today so got the washing machine on overtime. Have a good day.

Bad start to the day, between us doing earlies and now someone has been in through the back gate and left it open. I walked out to see big dog and kiwi galloping down the road, big dog with a silkie in her mouth. :(:(

( my silkie and a boy, but not what I would choose to happen) . I cannot work out who left the gate open, no one has seen any one about and the dogs did bark earlier, but I thought it was at a tractor.

I seething cross. What kind of idiot leaves gates open?

    ...

    Karma. :D:D:D:D

Well, after yesterday's hoolie, it looks like half a decent day here - just not too sure which half!

We're still burning our free trashy wood that's at least 2 years old. It's lasting well, but I suppose there will be no option but to buy 1000 litres of oil soon. We have a good buffer of nice wood in the shed, logged and au naturel, so hopefully we'll not have a repeat of last winter. :)

All the same, it would be nice to get in one or two of the loads we're owed.

Alf, you reminded me of my time in college halls of residence, which in our institution were almost new. Couldn't be anything wrong in those, could there? So....why did my room always smell? Yes, that's what the warden and the caretaker chappie said: "Take more showers and wash your socks!"

Anyway, I got really mad at not being taken seriously, so one night when it was bad, I borrowed some tools and took up part of the nice shiny floor in my room....to find inches of raw sewage swilling about!:eek::eek:

That wiped the knowing smiles off their faces! :rotfl:

Lucielle, family relationships can make difficult problems incredibly stressful. Be kind to yourself. :A

Lir, that's sad.:( Have you a notice on the gate, or better still, could you install a spring?

There is a notice on the gate. Spring would require replacement gate ( its in rustic condition) and the gate is not there for ever and tbh, out dogs could deal with springs anyway.

Might be a plan to re fence where the new line will be, but don't think DH agrees. :(

Torrential rain here today  I guess that is my excuse for staying indoors and getting some more clearing/tidying done. The house is really starting to look better and it is a lovely feeling.

Lucielle Sorry to hear things are tough

LIR What a horrid start to your day

    CTC Fingers crossed for progress

Now I need to start taking pics of things to list, the light today is grim though so it may need to wait but I can at least decide where to pos and what to charge etc

Have you and all of us daydreamers seen about the gov's latest way to make a few bob for their friends out of the NHS? Please have a read of this!

Was going to print off the letter this evening, but out of paper! :o :rotfl: Will dispatch OH to get more after the weekend.

We have a community clear up at the lottie tomorrow (ooops, today now!), along with community bonfire :j where we hope to burn a load of the couch and bindweed roots that we've been saving in one of the old baths we inherited behind the shed! :o:) Fingers crossed the rain stays off and we don't get one of the "thundery showers" threatened by the local weather forecast! :rotfl:

We've already signed the paperwork to opt out, maggie. The forms are at your GP surgery.
