CTC - Clay would explain a lot. Sorry for reading haphazardly.
LIR - I didn't know you could get it from a fall until recently. But I have lost faith in DRs here. All the good ones got out apart from one who is allus on holiday - what is that strange concept H O L I D A Y? Is that how it's pronounced? Is it something you do with your clothes on or off?
I suppose on £120,000 @ Year for 3 1/2 day week you could have lots & lots of lashings of that H O L I D A Y thing.
Pleased you feel good today LIR. Moving fencing? Hardy stuff, but if you can do the physical out doors it is heartening as you do feel chuffed that you have achieved stuff I find. Good to get a bit out of puff too I think. That and cold water baths in a puddle.....oh, porridge........that's nice too......going mad in a van. Sloooooowwwwllllllyyyyy Mental!0 -

I will cancel the surveyor and try and find a structural engineer..
Just wondered if it was under guarentee/bond, but it's too far back. The council would of probably insisted on that when it was done, but sounds a bit too far back. Thing is with clay it depends what's going on down there & it is effected by water - obviously, & stuff.0 -
I have been working ridiculously hard today :j
Been clearing out the things left by the workmen and have finally got round to clearing out the dining roomIt looks loads better already and OH is going to list the chairs on gumtree so that should clear quite a bit of space too. We are really keen to keep the dining table as we love it so much and it was the first proper piece of furniture we bought together, now we just need to store it until one of our children leaves home

very quiet on the ship "daydreamers" today ???
i went to see my dad, its proving hard at the mo as he is a bit low.:(
the water board are coming monday. and after 5 weeks of "the hole" i got back today to see mr prat has crept in and filled the hole while i was out !... pity cos the water board are gonna dig it up again to see what he did...;) :rotfl:0 -
Just got in from supermarket and found I'd forgotten the milk. I hate black coffee too, so annoying.
Plenty of parcels delivered today. Clip-frames for the prints I bought, a watch I'd imported from USA (£10 duty) and a new drill.
Looks like the rain is "in" for the weekend (at least) in Glasgow. Just as well I put the time in replacing sealant around the windows and cleared to gutter which was overflowing. Am thinking of getting a basic tumble dryer - getting anything on the washing line is near impossible.
If there's any letup was going to take cuttings from the verbena bonariensis and put them in the heated propagator - I thinks that's what's needed???
Setup my thermostatic fan heater in the conservatory in readiness for the first cold night; my aim is to keep it above 5 deg.C. but will need to keep an eye on the lecky meter! I've pulled all the plants away from the glass to reduce the chilled air falling onto them. Never had a frost-free glasshouse/conservatory so this is all new.0 -
So are the water board digging to find the leak then alfie?
I have been busy today. I have drafted out a letter of complaint to go to the 7, yes 7 different Clinical Commissioning Groups all of whom are responsible for the ME and CFS Service in our area. Before this govt top down reforms there were 3 Primary Care Trusts - and it was hard enough to get them all pointing in the same direction. I suspect that it will be like trying to herd cats with 7 CCG's. And all we want is for the Provider to deliver what they promised to deliver in 2009 - yes 4 years ago :mad::mad:
On the plus side I have just scoffed a Double Decker and it was very nice indeed:):) Little bits of chocolate always seem to break off though and I don't notice. Then I think I have a new funny shaped mole on my chest, but it is just a bit of melted choccy!
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Cleaning, clearing out and tidying all day today :j
The car is filled with things to take to the dump and there is a table full of things to take to the charity shop/sell. The bathroom has been washed down and some of our bits and pieces have been put back in so it is looking more lived in.
Hubby and I got a bit carried away and we have started to reorganise the living room furniture :rotfl:
Gosh after all this work I think I am going to have to have a long hot bathTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
I have been mostly sitting here working out how much all this building lark is going to cost, then discovering things we haven't even thought about yet.
One decision we made was that it would be madness to live in one end of the house while they did the other, and then swap over. This was suggested by a friend who did that on her barn conversion. It's feasible, but having us using some rooms would slow things down and lead to increased costs.
The barn has power and could soon have a loo, but it's a bit grubby. Hire a yurt perhaps?0 -

I wouldn't bother - all they'll offer is graded exercise or CBT. I've managed to steer clear of our CFS clinic under Dr Alastair Miller. It seems to be mainly run by physiotherapists.
BTW did you see the NHS supported online question time a couple of months ago? Dr Shepherd from MEA was about the only sensible "expert" and as for the physio involved, she was just awful. It was mostly the usual psych dross apart from Dr Shepherd. Plus they just deleted any questions that were perceived as not toeing the party line! And just didn't bother answering anything critical of the PACE trial.
Glad to hear it was only melted choccie and not a nasty mole! :rotfl:0 -
apparently they turn the water off in the house but have a special "thing" they put in the mains in the road and it tells how much/if theres a water leak.
IF it shows positive they will check the hole ...
they then send a report to agent and they have UP TO 28 days [depends on severity of leak] to put right. preferably with a fully qualified workman !!
sooooo when agent finds out I HAVE DONE WHAT I SAID I WOULD DO if they didnt fix it.............. watch this space...........0
