Great news about the thieving barstewards, CTC
I'm a great believer in the old saying that "You can choose your friends but not your family", lucielle. Most of us have a few relatives we'd happily trade in for good friends.
choille - You sound like I do when I'm sleep deprived. It's don the green body suit & say "Don't make me overtired. You wouldn't like me if you make me overtired".
LIR -No sign of any reason why someone should have come in through the gate? Could they have been after the chickens. There's a lot of pinching of poultry & animals (for meat) going on nowadays.
Let's hope the water board will get the thing sorted & bill the b*ggers, alfie. Just be wary that Mr Prat & Co don't turn nasty/awkward if that's the case.0 -
Last time I believe the weather man.....

Same here, though I have some jobs that don't need dry, like closing up holes on the bit of the barn we haven't worked on. Also, I patched up the conservatory, where only a bit of plastic was defending us from easterly winds.....
Sun's out now, but I'm not holding my breath......:shhh:0 -
It's been so warm here today I, who am almost always cold, took off my fleece and jacket and am sitting in a vest. Its incredible.
But, its only that warm because of cloud cover that came in after the bright sun and trapped it in, we have just had a short, heavy shower of rain.0 -

Might persuade hime to slap some emulsion on the ceiling later. Spent last weekend srtipping the living room, still trying to decide what colour to paint it.

Turned out fine again after all:) so I was able to put some concrete in to begin footings for the shed that we must move.
The area I've cleared for the shed slopes, as does all our veggie garden, but I've always considered it a gentle incline. However, while the shed is only 7' wide, the change in level across that is a whole breeze block.
Never mind. I remember doing a base for our 10'x10' shed at the old place, and there I built it two courses of blocks above the rest of the garden. That was so that I could hide rubble in the footings, rather than take it to the dump or skip it.I think something like that will probably happen again! :rotfl:
