Meanwhile on another thread, Better Days has had some bad news....:(

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4671741

And I have wasted about 90 minutes trying to find the owner of a chicken, which is hanging out with some pheasants at the B&B down the road....:rotfl:

'evening all ;) Good to catch up with you all.

Enjoyed all the chicken chatter :D Love the idea of a rainbow flock. A friend had some aracuna's and they did lay lovely blue eggs. When we do get our own place again one of the things I am looking forward to most is having chickens again. I love the way they bustle around and cluck with excitement when you give them sweetcorn. DH used to buy the 'value' sweetcorn from Tesco's just for the chickens :rotfl: We used to spoil them in the winter and give them some warm chopped pasta for a treat. And giving them spaghetti was always entertaining watching them running around trying to steal it from each others beaks.

We used DE to keep the mites under control and it seemed to do the job along with the ivermectin.

There is a free range chicken farm near us which sells the 'supermarket rejects' at £3 for a tray of 30. Some of the shells are a bit speckled but they are usually a good size and nothing wrong with them.

Davesnave - I hope you get your 'poo' sorted out - any progress on the bog?

CTC - When we moved here at the end of January my cunning plan was to list on ebay all the stuff that we had boxed up from our old house which was surplus to requirements and sell it on ebay. The plan has failed spectacularly and the third bedroom is still packed to the gunnels with boxes. It remains the 'box' room in more ways than one. I may have managed to list about 5 things. It is hard work faffing around with photo's and descriptions and I have been using my limited energy trying to find somewhere to buy. Ebay don't seem to use any discretion - I once got my wrist slapped and the listing pulled for including two web links in my listing. Would have happily deleted one of the links as I had lots of watchers and bids but not given the option.

Hope your energy levels pick up - it's so frustrating when there are things to be done and you feel like a Duracell bunny with the batteries run down.

As Davesnave has highlighted above, the lovely garden with tatty bungalow attached which we have offered on, may fall through. Surveyor has said that the bungalow is rendered single brick construction, therefore non-standard, worth considerably less and very difficult to keep warm. Plus more difficult to mortgage and insure. :(

On the plus side it was sunny here for a while today and I was able to sit outside and catch some rays with a cuppa. :)

Was there nothing in the Ea's listing to indicate that the property was non-standard construction?

Thanks. The one we saw from the breeder chappy seemed fairly calm. I suppose there's an element of temperament in the breed though. Cream Leg Bars....hmmm... (goes off to Google pic)

LIR's misspellings are great. I always read them in an 'allo allo' type voice over....eg. We are nit going to use the .....'

Ebay is very slow indeed for me these days - many saying the same. I really should set up something else/but what?

No. And an experienced EA should, I think, have spotted there was something different about this property. It was obvious once the surveyor pointed it out to me - the window recess is a lot less deep than usual. I had noticed that the window sills were small, but not realised the significance, especially as the EPC claims that the property has filled cavity walls :rotfl: Quite an achievement considering there is no cavity! :rotfl:(I always have a look at the EPC's to check on the heating type, insulation and floor area.) Perhaps I should email the chap who did the EPC and politely enquire where the cavity has gone since he did the report on 6th June.

Bit of progress on the summertime bog.....;)

I was thinking, "What's changed?" and it finally dawned on me that our neighbours haven't hung washing out since the winter.
This can only mean that they've been given a washer drier, as they have special needs through long term illness.

Well, that's great..... for them! :rotfl:

This may go some way to explaining why their side of the system is always running, as it has been every time I've looked, apart from at 5.50am this morning. At that time, all my holes in the field were dry, so drainage is happening, just not fast enough.

Anyway, I'll just keep monitoring till I've built up a full picture. Then I'll try talking to them. If they have to do lots of washing, they won't want me making them feel guilty about it. :oDifficult, but I just want to be sure there's nothing else, like a leaking toilet flush.

I love when they make people laugh, they make me laught of. Usually.

Sadly, in real life things are heading like my writing ATM. I have started intermittently transposing words and sounds when speaking again. It's been a long time since I did that.

And on Sunday night I was filling in a bupa form and I started writing backwards. I started to cry and told dh I was like something out of The Omen, and dh said it would be handy if I could use the darkness to get some control over stuff here ATM :rotfl:

I'm not risking writing any cheques ATM, it could all get costly..

LIR has a heart of gold and a written vocabulary to match. on some really depressing days over the last 3 months, her words have put the first smile on my face for that day. i love the words on par with her :)
