My aracunas didn't give as nice coloured blues as my cream legbars tbh.
They are also a very, very flighty bird I find, we still have one of those left actually. Where as the cream legbars I have found very curious people. I'm found of them0 -

Mind you, I have to wonder how the majority of people & animals successfully survived for hundreds of years without all the must-have anti-disease & elfin safety measures. Basic cleanliness & common sense went a long way. Sometimes I'm amazed how any of our ancestors survived long enough for us to be here today when they, apparently, didn't have a clue what they were doing.
I remember the old farmers around here (in their 70s & 80s) being particularly miffed at having to do some sort of dipping course or certificate. We'm dun it for generations & now zum bl**dy college kid says we'm need to learn how us should do it :rotfl:
Well, sadly they often haven't lived that well. Not good industry records of health and safety, agriculture. A healthy mixture of college kid and real experience is the only way forward really. In the same way that country folk used to be really healthy because we did more, but now I think we often get less exercise than our city mouse cousins who walk places, while we drive everywhere. These stereotypes of experience often belie stats of pretty poor success of experience alone versus chemicals etc

Now that would be those people that drive, of course. Not all of us do. However, it's true that we do have to use cars to get to more places as they close everything rural down & move it all into the towns.
I'm old school, I'm afraid.
I look on it rather like the old thing about most midwives/health visitors (who would tell Mum's what they should or shouldn't be doing with their babies) who were spinsters & never actually had experience themselves. Ideas on that still seem to change fashion every few years, too.
It always seems to me that if you put two modern experts in a room together you'll probably end up with 3 different 'proven' opinions none of which agree.0 -

... back again.
Basically, my problem is I just love birds, especially poultry! Cream Leg Bars look gorgeous! Are their eggs bigger than Aracaunas?0 -
I always wanted to create a rainbow eggs flock. I still do, it just won't be happening yet. In a couple of years perhaps"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0

Hmm, about the same, but a nice clear sky blue. Aracunas lay big eggs for their size really. I thought they were really cute initially, but now I just find them slightly odd looking.
I have had rainbow eggs and for me the biggest advantage in a small flock is its quicker to wrk out who is laying or having problems0 -
Surely the Bay shouldn't be reprimanding you, Alfie, without hearing your account of events, especially over a resolved issue?
!
Dave, much of the time the bay's responses are automated and draconian, like when they downgraded my policy compliance and removed listing for a firearms violation.. an avon glass aftershave bottle shaped like a gun :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Alf, while its a fair cop the other person was way OTT!
Well, day out, off to Museum in Cardiff, looking fwd to seeing the art and porcelain collections0 -

rhiwie, talking about museums, I have been itching to go to ST Fagans again, I totally love that place, if I could live on site in one of thise houses I would be a very happy bunny, but when it get dark, I might be scared:o:o:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -
