Oh Alfie how awful, I am so so sorry, I hope you find out who is responsible for leaving the dog unattended.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Oh dear!
Like choille's marten, I suppose it will try to come back. Hopefully, you can track it down before that though. Whether you can impress how serious it is on the owner is another thing.(I'm remembering CTC's piggies and the dogs.)
Take photos, unpleasant though it might be.
So many have had problems like this, I'm wondering when it will be our turn here. The new guy in the rented barn (the one who wanted to teach his 6 year old to shoot in our field!) has a couple of dogs. One of those, a sort of bulldoggish thing, is wilful and horribly strong, but he doesn't let it out of sight, thank goodness. Nevertheless, it's barged into our place a couple of times now.
If you have 4 left Alfie, how many did you lose to it?0 -

UNLESS SOME ARE HIDING [CHOOKS] BUT THEY DIDNT APPEAR WHEN I CALLED THEM BUT THEN AGAIN I HAD TO WADE IN THE POND TO PERSUADE THE 2 GEESE TO COME OFF..... THEY EVEN JUMPED AT A BROOM LEANING AGAINST THE SHED !!0 -

After trying to take off the old lime mortar, and whatever else the previous owner had painted onto the stones:mad::mad::mad: we caved in, and realised we couldn't save money by trying to remove it ourselves, so the sandblaster went up today to sandblast the 'wet' pine end... I haven't seen it yet, but hubby did say the crack does look worse now. So will phone the stone mason tomorrow, so he can go up and have a look, and then start repairing/stitching and do some pointing, rebuilding and upteen other things that need doingWork to live= not live to work0

maybe...just maybe it was meant to be and when its done will leave you with a more solid structure which in turn will ease some stress..... i know the finances will be a bug but if you can do it, i really think it will be a spring board to getting where you want to be....0 -
I'd guess you'll eventually meet the note writer and get a description. That would be most useful. The woman can't live far away if its a regular walk.
Checking around the 'estate' today I couldn't find any 'fresh' signs of fox or badger activity. There are several regular runs from the road and under the fence. I'm guessing fox, because we've never had a dead badger on that stretch of road. Plenty elsewhere.0 -
The cracks on the left side, the last time stonemason was there, said they were old, so will 'stitch' it, also the top 3rd of the wall will prob need to be rebuilt due to the water damage etc.. the concrete around the windows will be hacked off etc.. the pine end will then be lime washed.. as we think its pointless keeping it all exposed due to it being a mixture of brick and stone, plus it will give it a bit more protectionWork to live= not live to work0 -
CTC......may be daft but would it benefit you if a window was put in anywhere they were rebuilding ?0
