big hugs to lir for this week....
Will you be in contact with them this week????
If so, can you give us updates...
I must admit I don't understand.. the full extent of her illnesses etc, but I totally admire her for what she does, and what she has taken on with the house etc...
Did anyone see that programme last night on channel 5 I think.. 'proud and on benefits' or something like that.. one woman an 11 kids, and had £900 a week in benefits:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:,and another woman said she would not go and get a job unless she had a clear £500 in her hand after paying rent, rates and ALL bills:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: as you can imagine I was shouting at the TV... talking about taking the piddle...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Hugs to everyone that needs them. Dave the barn looks great. We had a new supplier call in and she was supposed to send us a wellie selection by email, except it turned out to be a willie selection!!!! That was an interesting conversation.

I am starting to doubt that my bathroom will ever be finished
Oh the highs and lows of building work, can you imagine what a mess I would be in if I was getting the whole house done? I think if we can ever afford to get the kitchen done then I will just go away for the week and come back to it all done
A busy day ahead for me today and all I really want to do is sit very still and relax. Ah well.
I have been looking at Daliahs and I have been getting carried away with my plans :rotfl: I would like some that I adore just for the way they look and then some that attract insects, if it is possible to have both things combined then all the betterTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
STILL not finished, sigh.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

I grew some dahlia's from seed this year for the first time and they flowered fairly well until this week when the tops all got broken off in the high winds. Easy to grow from seed and the variety I grew, Bishop of Llandaff, also has pretty foliage. Not an earwig in sight, although I didn't look that closely!
Dave that is a very tidy looking barn :T:T
Rummer when we had our bathroom done it was only supposed to take a week, but it actually took two and a half weeks - worth it when it was done though, but a pain in the meantime, I can really sympathise. Try chanting 'this too will pass' or maybe self medicating with choccie biccies (or both). A friend came round with some lemon drizzle cake yesterday and that brightened the day!
Well it is officially autumn in the BD household - my electric blanket has gone on the bed and I have all ready had it on this afternoonMy temperature regulation is haywire atm, usually cold, but sometimes overheating too. It's a sign that I have overdone things, but it will be hard to rest over the next few weeks as we should hopefully exchange on our house purchase (wind turbines and all ) this week. We are ready to exchange but vendor is still waiting for some searches on her purchase.
Mr BD is growing a moustache for his latest foray into amateur dramatics, and I hate it. Really doesn't suit him. I have suggested a 'stick on' moustache (a la Hercule Poirot) but he isn't keen on the idea :rotfl:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

well my "good" day has ended
after last post, [just got in] i went to shut chooks and geese away only to find 2 chooks and 2 geese [no duck].........
puzzled as they always go to bed and i shut them in, i got my floodlight only to be greated by carnage !!:(
dead bodies everywhere. i ran indoors to get bimble only to notice a note stuck by my door saying a dog was seen with a duck in its jaws running away from here. ive got in the 4 but they were terrified.
the one day i left the old girls with son and took bimble with me...:( son went to work at 4pm so must have been after then as i rang him and he said he saw them all when he turned off genny.
i am gutted as it must have just ran amok.
have to do some detective work tomorow.:(:(0 -
Oh no alfie
So sorry, so horrible to come home to.:mad::mad:It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
