Alex Oh no! Hopefully the delay will lead to an even better future. Doesn't help atm though.
LIR What a worrying and annoying night!
CTC Glad the sale was ok. Excited to hear Rozees news!
I had a bubble bath last nightTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Sorry to hear that things haven't worked out Alex, but who know what will crop up instead? One door may be closed at present, but others will open, no doubt.
You seem to live in a 'lively' rural place lir! Good job you can add canine liveliness to the mix, as required.
Egg test this morning showed a slight advantage to Dolly one of our remaining Silver Dorkings, but the Fenton Blue/Green still made a good showing. Anyway, it gave me a good excuse to have 2 eggs! :rotfl:
I was just thinking about rozee yesterday and wondering how it was all going.
Mmmmmm....bubble bath. Haven't had a bath in years! Sounds enticing, but it's about a year away.:(0 -
A sure sign Alfie has been
. Stair carpet we have been complaining about
Is now...
Well and truly gone!0 -
Btw, that wall on the left is NOT original, but the one that fell down some time last century. We have no idea what the original hall way would have looked like or anything, the stairs have never looked quite right, and though the bannister is lovely not all the posts look 'right' either, whether that's just because they are Humble or because they aren't original who knows. It seems unlikely that side of the house fell down and the stairs stayed standing, and yet, the carpet looked seventies, and the stairs had obviously had two different runners on before! So maybe they ARE original! They look old beautiful wood on the treads...but not terribly worn?0

LIR..... Alfie is such a good soul.... did she have some cake???:D
Luceille, I have been thinking, does your local authority have farms they rent out??? I know a lot of councils have sold them off, but some still have some..
NEVER give up... I know I need to knuckle down and REALLY start watching the pennies, so maybe we can start bouncing off each other, and help each other... I know its harder now than ever to try and save, BUT as someone on mse's signature says, 'every penny is a prisoner'Work to live= not live to work0 -
evening all...:D

as usual i loved every minute... thankyou LIR and DH and 3 wuffers.:D
im still laughing re the scaffold shoes :rotfl::rotfl:
it was great pulling up that carpet.. like pandoras box..:D
its amazing whats there. fabulous wood ! its not worn cos i reckon only ever had a runner down it which dates it to after 1900 i reckon cos posh houseshad them earlier but if twas a farm house id guess this side of 1900...if that makes sense.:D
OR it was a rarely used stair case ie an ald lady who couldnt get upstairs that lived there alone for 70 yrs which would date to 1830's :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Just out of another lovely bath
Tomorrow they will start the tiling and I am just so giddy about it. Never did I think that tiles and grout would bring me such happiness :rotfl:
We are still living in chaos however as every bit of work is done the clutter is slowly clearing and soon we will be able to get into the dining room and get it cleared for painting.
Garden wise we have done nothingthere are still some plums on the tree and potatoes to dig up and enjoy but the rest of the work is just weeding and cutting back. The pots are filled with colour and filling them was the right thing to do as they have brought me so much joy
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
