Just scrubbed the stairs.
They are still grubby, but less so.
Its true; Dirt really sticks, huh?
I've been known to steam clean wood before retreating it. Probably entirely the wrong thing to do. I'm not talking getting the wood really wet, though.
There's always wood soap, too.
I'm sure I remember that using a strong solution of white or light (like cider) vinegar & water is said to work but haven't tried it personally.0 -
lir.... OOOPS didnt intend for you to be on your knees scrubbing steps !!:o
best not change any light bulbsrest up tonite...:D
well ive had a semi productive day........ i started by eating a BIG chunk of cakey that i saw being cooked at cakesvillenot an ideal brekkie but hey ho...;)
i went to see my old lady, did a few bits for her . then sorted and posted some bay items.
my house needs a good clean but its fun just shutting the door and going outside instead :rotfl::rotfl:
im thinking iv forgotten something today...
wheres BUXTON ??
Derbyshire. May be others, though. Derbyshire is the only one I know but Geography was never my best subject.0 -
The bath is mine, all mine and I am not prepared to share :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The tiles have started to go up and hopefully most of the tiling will be done by tomorrow. I am still ridiculously happy every time I step into the bathroom to see work being doneCurrently trying to decide on the colour of grout that we want. The tiles are large and a matt white and we are torn between white or grey grout for them. I think the grey would make it look a bit more modern but I am slightly worried it will make it look like a public toilet :rotfl:
Gosh my chat is dull, I never thought that grout would feature so heavily in my conversations :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
BD :eek::eek::eek: This has really put a spanner in the works, and soooo close to signing.
Would this be one of the reasons why this property is being sold? Would this type of thing, should have been declared by vendor or estate agents???
Did you intend to only stay a short time at this house?? if so, do you think you might have problems in selling the property in the future, if the planning application is passed?? would you be able to see them from the property? At the end of the day what was your first reaction when you read/heard the news??? what is your gut instinct telling you??
I just posted this link on the SHTF threa on the OS board

With white tiles I'd go white grout. Might not be modern, but I'd always feel that the grey grout would look dingy. Also, any little imperfections in finishing will show up terribly..
Once the are up and very, very clean, car wax them, and re wax them a out of times a year. Helps keep them clean. (There speakers the woman who had dark blue tiles and white grout in the hard water area of London ....limesclae and people who were bloody lazy about bathroom cleaning.0 -
The proposed site looks to be less than a mile from our proposed purchase
That's close! I'm about 6 miles from the 215 turbines in the Whitelee windfarm, the largest onshore installation in the UK, so can see the turbines all along the hillsides.
I think they spoil the landscape, thankfully can't hear the low whirring noise they create 24/7...0 -
Rhiwi....... when did the bay start to charge a % on the bl**dy postage it costs to send !!!!!!!
that makes it even dearer to post....:mad::mad:0 -

Yep, that's bigger than the one I meant. I'm pleased to be able to pass the honour of the biggest (who says size doesn't matter :rotfl:) to you, IHS.
I think what people don't always appreciate is the sheer size of the things. The ones I talked of are 110m high. Big Ben is 96.3m. Some turbines are 130m+ high _pale_
.............. &, as you say, the noise

Oh no LIR we just decided to go with the grey :rotfl: is it a total nightmare?
I must confess I am terrified of wind turbinesthey make me think about that 80s TV show the Tripods and that show (remember I was quite young) was terrifying
