After our chat yesterday I think I am going to get a decent pair of wellies as my current ones are a bit neat round the ankle, waterproof trousers, a waterproof jacket possibly a wax jacket or a three in one and some sort of comfy walking type trainer. Planning on rummaging round the local charity shops although they are getting quite expensive and maybe popping some things on my xmas list.

  • Rummer I find proper walking boots more comfortable than any trainer... In fact I would say I wear them everywhere, all of the time...

What part/area of the country are you???? I can have a nose to see what events we could do around that area.

Boglets are going to be happy ..Picked up loads of mini doughnuts tonight...

Hope FK is ok... haven't seen here around.

BD there could be various reasons why your dog is licking their paw.... seed stuck/embedded in between paw, bleach/cleaning products irritating paw, urine burn, some times when a dog gets older, they are not so good at aiming when they go to the loo, the washing powder you use to wash the sock?? It could be anything...

Hubby said he cold and wanted to light the fire:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: The look I gave him...I think he knew not too:rotfl:

Turned out nice this afternoon so went to the local garden open at the big hoose. It has got a very, very ancient yew tree that is amazing. It pained me to see all the fruit rotting on the trees & bushes - how mad is that? Massive yellow raspberries all mouldy covered in flies. Quinces left to rot.
I did do some path weeding & a black grass thing found it's way into my pocket. Also another mystery plantlet, but I mistakenly took it out & asked the gardener what it was......obviously I was too relaxed........

Choille you and Dave seem to have this strange affliction where by plants leap onto you wherever you go :rotfl:

It does sadden me to see fruit not being eaten and just going to waste. I felt quite chuffed when we didn't need to buy fruit this week as we have so many plums to get through :j

I was so determined to wait but it was far to cold. Hopefully we can turn it off again over the weekend if the weather perks up a bit :D
Mind you it is lovely to be snuggly warm!

Yes, it happened again this week, when a withered honesty plant, full of seed heads, fell on me whilst walking in a green lane. Oh, the irony! :rotfl:

OTOH, I'm supplying about 20 plants to a local charity sale this weekend. It's all about spreading the lurve.....

More kitchen planning yesterday, this time with computer generated graphics, but we left as confused as ever. Today we'll have more of the same. It seems one may have endless permutations, just not the particular ones we want. :(

We've had the woodburner lit these past few nights, but only using the trashy wood that isn't what I'd call 'proper logs.' I try to cut up everything thicker than 2" rather than bonfire it.

 Dave why are you up at 5.30 in the morning???

I have a very busy day today and all I want to do is potter about in the garden and relax. In fact I am going to go for a walk around the garden before I head off. Not that it will take long to walk round :rotfl:

Tomorrow morning I am going to go through my seed tin and clear out anything that I do not need. I have very old carrot seeds which I know will not germinate and a whole pile of flower seeds that I was given free and will not use so I will pass them on to people who will enjoy them. I doubt I will really need any seeds for next year, I think on my last spree and with the number of seed giveaway that I have benefited from that I will be okay for years and years :rotfl::rotfl:

I was a bit disappointed that my Jerusalem artichokes never came to anything this year. I was hoping they would be another lazy food source in the garden. The asparagus also never flourished although I think that was planting errors and lack of care on my part :o

Next year my plan is a few simple highly productive things to enjoy :D

    It's not illegal. :D:p:cool:

I often get up early, but then I go to sleep early too....sometimes. I let the hens out at 06.00 in the summer, but at present I'm doing that at 07.00.

I was also thinking I'd go fishing early today, but DW had other plans... :(
