I'll admit, that one was deliberate:o but I was still struggling to post last night and I went to bed straight afterwards.

I meant to write that I'd finally finished the boarding on the back of the barn. :)

It was one of those jobs that would take two days and actually lasted twice as long. The barn all looks straight enough in the picture, but wasn't....quite. It took a whole morning to figure out how to do the corner join without showing this 'feature' off.
DW says no one cares, as it's just a barn, but I care! :rotfl:

I don't mind admitting I am envious! I have a few barns that could do with boarding out and we don't even know where to start!

As it was exactly 10 weeks since the Openreach man visited to discuss the errant pole, I emailed him yesterday to see what was going on...

Today, action! I now have a job number and a promise that the wayleave dept will be in touch next week. :D We'll see! confused-smiley-003.gif

We were going to visit Rosemoor today en route to some basic shopping, but just as we were about to leave, friends from our old neighbourhood showed up, so we enjoyed their company instead. :)

I'm never sure what people who knew us before make of our life here, but at least it was sunny and the place looked as good as it will get this year.

In the afternoon we planted all the laurels we have behind the scrappy wood barns on the boundary between us and the thatcher's yard. This is going to make a nice sheltered area where we can hide some of our junk, without seeing their junk. :p

Just been watching a documentary on the Eagles on bbc 3?

    I love Joe Walsh:D:D

The last part of the documentary IMHO didn't do glen fry and the other guy any favours...

Stonemason said the front of the house should be finished by middle of next week ( well all that he can do, until the windows etc are done).

Right better try and get some sleep, as We are in work tomorrow for a few hours

    More ruddy showers forecast.

That's rules out spaying (didn't we want to be organic at one time? What's happened to me this year!) and painting. Although its ridiculous
Y early I think it looks like we'll be starting to mulch today. It needs doing and our annuals haven't been great this year. I miss my blaze of Californian poppies in fact.

All my spring direct showings of them have failed. I wonder of I should do a late sowing under the manure mulch now? Would make better sense in many ways.

Hi everyone, thank you all for your kind words following my good news earlier this week. Dave, can I ask, how long is your barn in inches???? :D:D

Cladding looks very smart, certainly tidier than the barns round here :)

Alfie - looks like you had a wonderful trip, well worth the wait, those ariel photos will be lovely to keep.

rozeepozee don't forget to post photo's of your new chucks - have they got names yet? When are you getting your new stove?

Our 20th wedding anniversary today - scary stuff:eek::eek::eek:
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

    Brrr.

Went out to look at beds to mulch and actually, its still really cold out there. I might have to change back into something warmer.

Is it really almost that time of year?

Happy Anniversary to y..o..u t..w..o!music-smiley-024.gif Better Days. music-smiley-013.gif

I'm not boasting, mind, but my barn is 720" long and 324" wide. :D (or 60' x 27')

Tomato report: I am very impressed with the new Floridity toms, which are a cherry plum type. They are less juicy and more fleshy, but the taste is great. :)

My Gardener's Delight seem a bit watery in comparison with the above. :(

The Marmande are as good as ever. ;)

The Brown Berry, which won 3rd in the RHS taste trials, are not good for eating raw....very mealy and not much 'bite.' :(:(

    Your experience may differ though.......

I seem to have received not quite the real article when I bought 'Trieste' kousa courgettes from a source other than Real Seeds. Yes, they are blonde, but they don't taste the same. The chickens don't care at all, however.

Just want to say that I am reading & sharing everyone's ups :j & downs :( I just haven't been communicating them :o so forgive me for that.
My time is being taken up with the same old issues but, rather than give blow by blow updates, I'm waiting for something 'concrete' - if it ever happens - to report.

    I have concrete to report....:D

Suddenly remembered that we were giving the last 2.5 m2 of our old garden in Bath to the people who bought our house, providing them with full control over fencing and the concrete access path they use.

Emailed solicitor..... Have we sold? (It was £1:rotfl:)

Received answer back...."Yes we did that in March!" :o:o:o

Well, how would I know? We never got our £1.
