I'll admit, that one was deliberate:o but I was still struggling to post last night and I went to bed straight afterwards.

I meant to write that I'd finally finished the boarding on the back of the barn. :)

It was one of those jobs that would take two days and actually lasted twice as long. The barn all looks straight enough in the picture, but wasn't....quite. It took a whole morning to figure out how to do the corner join without showing this 'feature' off.
DW says no one cares, as it's just a barn, but I care! :rotfl:

Dave I didn't even get the pun until CTC pointed it out :rotfl::rotfl:Looks a "proper job" on the barn, well done.

Alfie it looks fantastic! Even before your second photo caption was on my screen I was mentally squeaking "that's Alfie's house!" :j

I got up at the usual time this morning and it was drizzling, this is the second lot of stair rods since 6am  I'm so glad I don't walk to work...

Rozee, given the space and time I would gladly join you in a comparison project. I'll have to see what next year brings, as it's too late to start this year for me now. It's still a dream though :j

In other news, I have a nasty virus which is getting me down, mostly throat-related. This is day 4, I hope the worst of it was last night as I still have two days of work to get through before I can collapse in a heap for the weekend.

Sending love to Choille's half-Persian *gentle hugs*

Have fun and keep safe everyone!
I was driving through the Preselis yesterday to get these birds and I was elated. The weather was glorious, I was listenting to some of my favourite tunes and it was great to feel like I was doing something that I wanted to do. It reminded me of my youth and how much I loved animals. OH and I have both noticed how the little bantams make us feel happy when they are around (I was quite surprised at this admission from him). I've sort of had the notion of knowing what I want bashed out of me via very authoritarian parenting and in the end doing what they (really, my dad) wanted to keep the peace. No longer :D but once I stopped doing that, I had to work out what it was I really wanted, as I'd forgotten! I have remembered I am a biology nerd.

Anyway, Alex, that sounds like a great offer. I'm not sure most of the birds are great specimens of Aracauna, TBH, but there's one hen which she bought at a high price from the National Poultry Show and if I'm going to hatch, it looks like it will be through her. Meantime, we have already had two blue eggs. We were so excited!

Alfie, that plane looks so tiny!

Rozee, hearing about your new hens reminds me we should be getting some more too, to see us through winter when the pure breeds stop laying. ATM we have no surplus eggs, as our previous customers who stopped regular ordering have come back. No doubt we'll lose them for half a year again when the winter break forces us to send them elsewhere, but it's good to know "elsewhere" isn't as good! :D

My mum has an uncanny knack of phoning me when I'm just about to leave the house... arghhh!

We are having one of these monsters http://www.stovesonline.co.uk/wood_burning_stoves/Broseley-eVolution-26.html I'd prefer one that cooked my dinner, but instead it's going to heat the radiators.
