These are the sort of comments I mean, god help you if you ever need any kind of help

Surely the point is that the OP already gets significant help, and actually has/had the means not to need holiday funding on top!!

    No, it isn't the point.

The point is she's only enquiring about it, her personal circumstances aren't for you to pick over and decide what she is and isnt entitled too and she didn't post to have the trolls constantly run her down.
You've had your say, why go on and on and on about it? What are you trying to achieve exactly?

You and a couple of others are pure and simple trolling this woman now... THAT'S the point!
    1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
    10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
    50p: Christmas presents £3.50
    £2: holidays £2.00

I don't believe I've gone on and on and on! I've highlighted the OP's earlier posts and relevant points, and I've responded to people who've addressed those points. It's called a conversation.

    Wow!

I've used the family fund before and they can be a great help to those who need it.

However,I wish there was some way they could tighten things up so it is more need based.Anyone can want something then write whatever.

I also know of a family who will pay to go on holiday one or two times a year, along with having weekends away, yet then go and claim towards a Butlins holiday from the family fund every year and post pics of themselves getting wrecked with friends they've taken with them.

That kind of thing is wrong!

These things are meant to benefit the disabled child and, despite some disagreeing,a holiday can have huge benefits that are not accessible elsewhere for the child (and carer) which is why they permit them-these are not things the average child would necessarily need benefit from, but I would never post the benefits as I know some just blag to take what they can get. That is something I do not agree with.

Have to say I'm confused why the op posted to ask given her knowledge of FF!

Shegirl, I think you have summed it perfectly. I always appreciate your post as your opinions always seem very objective. You are a single parent who has a child who through his disability REALLY need your care 24 hours. You've been through hell with his dad, but kept your dignity through it all. You prioritise your son and yet never moan and always appreciate what you get and are given.

I, and I suspect many posters, would be delighted if families like yours could get a holiday through the fund every year or so. It's those families would could afford to go if they budgeted differently, or who could get a job and pay for it, yet who expected such funds to provide for them just because their child has a disability, even if their life is not fundamentally that different to any other children their age, who really gets people going and come across as 'nasty'.

I'm agreeing with the opinion of another poster, just as you have done.
So what's the difference between my post and yours?
Do you think you have more right to post a comment?

I have always thought that too.
