For those that find it informative, can i also point out that the Family Fund DO NOT give you a free holiday!
You are awarded a maximum of £500.
Some people seem to think some of us are jetting off to Dubai twice a year........as you can see.......only in an airfix model with £500
And it is to contribute towards the cost of a family break.......your child must be named on the booking.Autism Mum Survival Kit: Duct tape, Polyfilla, WD40, Batteries (lots of),various chargers, vats of coffee, bacon & wine.0 -

The maximum seems to have risen...If you fit the criteria they will try to help our 1st award was for £900 thomas cook vouchers.
I am glad such a fund is there to assist those that need it... The operative word though is "need" rather than "want"... and I would question whether the OP's lifestyle reflects a "need".:hello:0 -

Oh, I agree... a person willing to ask for charitable support when seemingly able to be self sufficient is disturbing and bordering on "nasty".:hello:0 -
Mean Spirited Ejjits
Some people treat others really badly on here, reminds me of another forum that threw out it's members, I think they all trolled over here.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -

To be fair, that's not strictly true.A first application awards more and a holiday can be up to £900 with that along with other things awarded too. It's not unusual for a first award to receive around a grand combined. There are families who have received a holiday, clothing and bedding at once for example.
In general though, the holiday awards are lower in previous years (some moan about that too!) and it's up to the family whether to pay anything on top.
I've also heard that you get more with thomas cook vouchers than other holiday awards but don't know how true that is.
Anyone who doesn't get grants through them though can often get a holiday discount through their 'partners' (although you can often find a better deal online!)
What truely gets me,and it's happened on here before,is when people hear of FF and decide to use it just to get free things for the sake of it with no need then post asking 'what shall I ask for?/what did you get, give me ideas'
Like most things, there is only a limited amount of money in the pot each year,so anything taken without need or through greed will leave someone with a need without! If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

^^^ This.
Back to my posts... why is questioning someone's request of a charity "nasty"? Are you suggesting we all just assist what appears to be someone trying to play the system?
The OPs lifestyle and choices don't suggest hardship - she's just heard about another revenue stream to make more money. If successful, that will leave less for those in actual need - now that is "nasty".
On a previous thread she had already asked about what others had managed to claim... yet then claimed ignorance on this new thread... Why shouldn't I question that?:hello:0 -
