Hi all
A good friend of mine was saying last week about having some sort of vouchers towards holidays either in this country or abroad for parent/s who claim dla for a child
Is this correct?? If so , how do you go about it and who is it with.
Many thanks

The only thing I can think of is the family fund? Haven't used them myself but I have heard lots of people have and I know they provide holidays.

just printed the form, seems all fine to complete.
Just a tiny question:
As my header states we would love to take the children away, anywhere but what are our chances with them agreeing??
Am sat here thinking is it worth a whirl .

Sorry to sound harsh but why on earth should my OH and I who work like dogs and can't afford holidays fund your family getaway?0 -
Your priorities are screwed, OP. can't pay your debts or take your kids away but bought a Samsung tablet for Xmas. Something not quite right about that.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

We went on holiday when I was young (seventies and eighties) due to charity because my sister was special needs, my dad worked all hours in a menial job and we had no money. I was only told this last year and had never realised. My mum and dad did the best that they could but we didn't have luxuries as a family. Everyone had video recorders but we didn't. I do find it strange that you can buy a tablet for Christmas and still get a free holiday.0

I wish I could afford Clinique make up and a holiday
and me and my partner work full time with no debt.

Thatchers last true legacy - we now have a society of "well I dont have that so they cant" of "look at them they have that and I dont so stop them from having it".
Nobody wins in a race to the bottom but a hell of lot of people want to be in the race. But beware if you are taking from someone someone will be looking to take from you and then we have nothing - no nhs, no welfare support, no unemployment support etc.
Bring back the poorhouse but only for the deserving poor!
OP i hope you enjoy your samsung tablet and your holiday if you can get it sorted!0 -
My view is that if the OP meets the requirements of the FamilyFund then they have every right to apply & get a break.
It is, after all, a fund to help disabled children.
It's not just giving some Joe Bloggs a free All Inclusive fortnight in a 5* Spa resort in St Lucia.
So the OP is in debt.
So the OP uses Clinique.
So the OP bought a Samsung tablet for Xmas.
So what?
Maybe the tablet helps the OP's child's development.
As long as the OP is dealing with her debts, what business is it of anyone else?
Instead of having a go at the OP - who is only considering applying for something that she (as a parent of a disabled child) may or may not be granted - why not direct your ire at the organisations who allow such things to happen.0
