Firstly, I accept that autism brings challenges but let's not go overboard about how much the OP might need to treat herself or how much more difficult her life is as a result.
People face challenges everyday... some see them as part if life, others see them more "opportunistically"...
If the child has mild autism, it is quite possible that the family will not qualify for a grant, as the FF supports families whose children have severe or multiple disabilities.0 -

am all for them having a break, but what about disabled adults
Try this link for grants:

I really feel for people who are bringing up disabled children, it can't be easy.
If the OP meets the requirements and is deemed eligible by a charity to have help for a holiday, then why shouldn't she?
The children will benefit and that can only be a good thing.0 -

In the interests of being fair, let's quote the whole post where Raq mentions autism, shall we?
Taken from a thread discussing the MMR jab at 09:07 today:my first is 13 - no autism
my second is 9 - no autism
my 3 - mild autism, just on the boarder
I don,t believe it is the mmr jab
The OP says none of her 2 eldest have autism - no argument from me about that.
What makes you think that it's the 3rd child who is in receipt of disability benefits?
How do you know that one of the 2 eldest children don't have some other form of disability?
Have you read through all the OP's 1500+ other posts to enable you to say that the disability that the child is getting benefits for is 'mild autism'?
If you have, I'd suggest you are stalking her.
As other posters have said, if the OP isn't eliegible for something from the FamilyFund, then they won't get anything.0 -

So the holidays/breaks etc are for disabled people but the criteria isn't for people on DLA, is that right? Or have I missed a bit?0

Welcome to the mse family board where we will pick apart your life and make petty judgements on you based on your posting history which we will scrutinise until we find something to bring you down with.... no wonder people give up on this place.....0 -
just printed the form, seems all fine to complete.
Just a tiny question:
As my header states we would love to take the children away, anywhere but what are our chances with them agreeing??
Am sat here thinking is it worth a whirl .
thanks
