The Xbox 360 for me, Cal of Duty is what ive played most of, Halo ive played a bit but only the early games. The GTA series i like, the orange box set is good especially portal.
I tried WoW but it just wasnt me.0 -
Not really a MMORPG gamer tbh. My current favourite games are:
Mincraft
Skyrim
and the Silent Hill series (my console guilty pleasures)
Also loving the gaming board!0 -
I'm more of a console gamer, but when I get on the PC it's normally RuneScape, Diablo2/3 and Minecraft.
Playing though the DeathSpank series on the PS3 at the moment
I used to play RS back in the day but since the clutterfluster (whatever) update my fps crashed to 1-2fps so I didn't get on and lost my pmod crown to inactivity, lost heart in it after that. I still go on every couple of months but only for a few minutes.
I play D3 too, but on the American servers with the Amazon Basin, maybe you have heard of us?It is an anti-cheating/pro-coop group that just tend to like to play rather than whining about the auction house lol
D3 is pretty much all I am playing at the moment, was going to get sim-city but didn't feel like playing Sim-hamlet, and why are all games makers forcing people to play "social"?"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
I play on by boyfriend's 360 and play Borderlands 2 (a lot!). Also loved Left 4 Dead 2 (although nobody else plays this anymore), Red Dead Redemption and Lego games.0

why are all games makers forcing people to play "social"?
Because simply installing DRM into games creates negative feedback and a thousand and one people looking to crack it. By adding social MP elements to games that really don't need them they can simply use server side verification that a game copy is legitimate.
On top of that, as SimCity is EA it provides another benefit. EA wants you to meet people in SimCity, it wants you to start a city in a random region and wants you to get on well with the other strangers because it wants you to add them to your friends list in Origin which is required to play SimCity. It wants you to do this because if you have a nice, large group of online friends and contacts you've met through Origin and have listed on Origin, then you might play on Origin more than Steam, and then you might purchase more games from Origin than Steam because you'll have more of Origin's advertising in your face.
This is one of the reasons why EA pulled that nonsense requiring you to sign up/login to Origin to play a console version of Mass Effect 3. They get you in Origin, they upload your character data to BSN (Bioware Social Network) and hopefully they get you communicating with other Origin users.
And it doesn't hurt their marketing position either. Big titles such as ME3 and SimCity create a lot of activity on their servers which puts them in better negotiating positions with publishers over cuts of sales through the Origin platform. Because Origin can be (and I think is by default) set to automatically run on startup, it doesn't prove much to say that they have X many million users because many might not be active but forcing online play gives them a chance to show activity.0 -
My first console was a Master System. Then I got a Playstation. Then a Gameboy Colour. Then I had a gaming PC. Then I got a PS2 (which wasn't as good as the gaming PC but it died)
I won't go into every game I played but stand out ones were:
Pokemon Red and Yellow
Red Faction 2
The Sims
All GTA games
Lord of the Rings Return of the King (surprisingly awesome!)
I currently have a PS3 and I have the following games:
BioShock 2*
Mass Effect 3* (not played yet)
Call of Duty Black Ops
Call of Duty Black Ops 2
Dishonored
Far Cry 3
Fifa 09 (not played yet)
GTA IV
Guardians of Middle Earth* (this is crap)
Hitman: Absolution*
inFamous
LA Noire
Limbo*
NHL 11
Red Dead Redemption
Skyrim
Sleeping Dogs*
Street Fighter 4
The Amazing Spider-Man
The Last Of Us
Uncharted
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 3

which games would you recommend to a newbie online gamer?
Rift has gone FtP just this week. Community isn't any more terrible than any other MMO. Lots of newbies around. It's always been a good MMO, I just haven't been able to justify monthly payments for games for a few years now.

I'd also highly suggest Rapt for game tracking. I've gotten a number of freebies for Rift through it. It'll read your Xbox Live time and your Steam time if you let it.

Mainly RPGs - the Final Fantasy series, the stuff Mistwalker's put out (if Uematsu is involved doing the music basically I'm a sucker for it), odd outbreaks of things like Civilisation games of various incarnations (I prefer IV to V for some reason), things like the Professor Layton games as well.
Oh and Final Fantasy XI (the first MMORPG one they did) for a good few years - but that seems to really be dying off now the rebooted XIV is back into beta so I think sadly its days are numbered (I'll probably jump to 14 at some point but much more casually than I gamed previously).
Oh and I'm stuck on some ridiculously low level in Candy Crush Saga but I don't really think that counts.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
I'm an MMO fan. I've played WoW, runescape, Guild Wars, Everquest and currently on DCUO.
PS3 wise I love DragonAge series, (Shame that it's made by EA) and Final Fantasy. I also love DS games like Layton and Phoenix Wright. Otherwise it sits there collecting dust!
I'd love to play that Rocksmith but I just didn't have the money to get the guitar and the game!Former Debt free wannabe. Now trying to save for a rainy day!0 -
