I've started adding my budget to the Steam Wallet when a sale is on.
I find that encourages me to be a bit more picky about what I purchase - much fewer of the "oh, it's only a couple of quid, might be decent..." moments as I start to wait for specific titles to come up on the daily or flash deals. Helps having a set list of games.
I do something quite similar.
I have the games I really want on my wishlist, so I get notifications when they go on sale (got Little Inferno and Dear Esther that way).
During the sales I have a game of "how many good/interesting titles can I get for a £10"
I end up with a lot of really nice indie games and for not a lot of money spent0 -
Juggling with a few PC games just now.

I'm mainly a PC MMORPG gamer, hubby is the console gamer.
I play Aion on EU servers, recently back after a few months break to organise our wedding. It's supposedly free-to-play but as with WoW the limits on free accounts are pretty harsh. I've heard that Aion US is truly free, if I wasn't horrified by the idea of starting over I'd give it a go!dizziblonde wrote: »Oh and Final Fantasy XI (the first MMORPG one they did) for a good few years - but that seems to really be dying off now the rebooted XIV is back into beta so I think sadly its days are numbered (I'll probably jump to 14 at some point but much more casually than I gamed previously).
I loved FFXI! I 'met' some great people who I'm still in touch with today :rotfl:
It was my first MMO, started playing after watching my OH play, I hadn't known MMORPGs existed! We worked nights and played during US peak time so unfortunately when I changed to a full time 9-5 job it didn't really mix(it was about the same time as the original FFXVI release so numbers dropped for a time anyway.) I've tried to go back a couple of times since but I'm too far behind now after the level cap increase etc.
I've also played a bit of Fable on hubby's Xbox and a bit of CoD. I definately prefer MMO to single player RPGs though.
Oh and I love puzzles games like Professor Layton, Candy Crush etc too, am stuck on level 152 of CC, it's driving me bonkers!!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -

It probably wouldn't be worth it anyway.
The North American version of Aion has increasingly become a "pay to win" game from what I have been hearing from my American and Canadian acquaintances.0 -

That's interesting, I heard it wasn't as bad as EU as here you pretty much need to pay £8ish/month in order to access full chat, trade, and instance features, (there are two levels of free accounts, starter and veteran, depending on whether or not you played before the hand over from NCsoft to Gameforge). Some people can manage with the veteran status however I admit I do pay as my playtime is condensed to weekends and the instance timers really mess this up! Plus its the same amount as before the change, and what I was paying for FFXI previously.
As far as I know the US version doesn't have this cost, but as you say does have various enchancements available in the cash shop that are very 'pay to win'.Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -

I actually met my husband on XI - long story involving a wisecrack made about the Dime Bar advert with the "I like armadillos" line in and a message coming up with "OK, so where in the UK are you from then?" and things snowballing from there.
Been playing the re-launch FF14 beta recently - looks like it's (finally - I played the original alpha, beta and some of the retail release versions and it was shocking) shaping up to be quite a nice little MMORPG now - I might well pick it up for a few months since 11 is really dying a death now and the break I took when the baby arrived's put me so far behind it's hard to do catch up. I own the game anyway since I bought it reduced to like a fiver to clear in Tescos so it would just be the montly subs to pay for.
Friends were pushing for me to go to Aion when it first came out but I didn't have the time.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

I used to play Runescape but quit with release of EoC, had been playing since 07 but I don't miss it.
On PC I usually always play Counter strike:source, sometimes GMOD and minecraft, oh the walking dead game is good too.
On Xbox - fallout 3 is my favourite, I like NV too and I have replayed them to death, super meat boy, gotham city imposters, fable. Haven't started skyrim yet but I'm not really into things like castles, dragons etc it kinda puts me off.
I still play my ps1, that has some of the best games
I bought tomb raider the other day, played 10 mins of it and it looks good so I am looking forward to get back on it.
I FORGOT THEME HOSPITAL!0
