Santander 1 2 3 Account

In my case all has been put through on same date, I had upgraded my current account to the 1-2-3 account one month ago and account number etc all stayed the same and all my DDs etc were already in place and running. I checked online today and showing under tomorrow's date, 15th July, is firstly the £2 fee, then my interest credited on balance in the account, then my cashback amounts are listed. All appears to be in order. They may be checking mine manually for a while as they had hinted they'd be keeping an eye on it due to problem I had sorting my electricity DD for getting allowed cashback (see my earlier posts).

Please can anyone help! - Having spoken at length to Santander today to ensure that they give 2% on Co-operative Energy, I was told that they only gave it to Mid Counties region of this national company!
What!!!!! You need to modify your advice Martin as this will lose me over £300 cashback p.a.:eek::eek::T If a job needs doing, do it :T0 -

- The people in the branches and call centres sometimes don't know what they're talking about.
- Their online list of suppliers which qualify for cashback is not comprehensive.
If you've paid them by DD and you've subsequently had a statement with no cashback for energy, you should follow the advice on Santander's website - which says:If you've checked and you can't earn cashback on payments to one of your suppliers you can contact us or visit a branch to ask us to add them to our list of eligible suppliers. You could also send a secure message through Online Banking. Before submitting a query, please make sure that the company meets the eligibility criteria (e.g. the Direct Debit is not for commercial, maintenance or insurance contracts).
I recommend the secure message route - if you ring they'll fob you off with some excuse.
If you've not yet paid this DD and seen it on a statement, I should wait until you have. You may well get your cashback without having to chase it.0 -

I think you may have the decimal point in the wrong place. I find it difficult to believe anyone has a gas/electric bill of £15,000 pa0 -
Hey new member looking for some advice about this account if possible.
I am a professional gambler living in the uk and currently have this account with the max that qualifies for interest. Have got the rest of my savings in a esaver.
First question is as gambling isn't taxed in the UK i assume i don't have to pay any interest on my balances and the monthly interest i gain from the 123 account.
Secondly i see people have more than 1 123 account i had no idea this is possible. Is it as simple as applying for another account and adding it to my online banking log in so i can manage all the accounts together.
Thanks for any help. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
mxhoward84- I assume your first question relates to tax on the interest. Unless you have regisered as a non-taxpayer with Santander, tax will be deducted from your interest at source. Your gambler status has no relevance to the interest payment.
I'm not sure about multiple accounts but I would expect that to be limited to a single account and a joint account (with spouse). In any event you will be limited by the number of direct debits you have.0 -

Hi thanks for the help.
Yes i registered as a non tax payer so i get the full £50 a month interest was just checking i wasnt going to get a knock on the door from the hrmc in the future and that this was fine.
On the second account i was instantly approved for it and when logged into online banking it was sat right there next to my old one. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Can anyone confirm (or not) that E-On for power, & Virgin for telly & BB qualify for the discount, I just assumed that they all did!, I assume all council tax will qualify.0
