Has anyone had their documentation through yet? I ordered last Thursday and nothing! :(

NU Rescue have been very poor in sending documentation out.

A few of us at least have had to chase them for the documents.

I have again spoken to NUD customer services (based in India).A manager told me that unless the customer can show the flyer (with the code) they will be unable to get the insurance....or she added the customer must show that they have the car insurance if they want the breakdown to be sent out.
So in effect if you breakdown without the car insurance on their files then you will be stranded ,I replied. She replied if people have lied to get the insurance we will take the money but they will have invalid documentation...

I now have to ask if anyone has used the breakdown service without having the car insurance policy.

This was also inserted by Martin on 19/04 at the start of the thread about NUD that you need the car insurance policy.Take an extra blanket just in case you breakdown and a board saying ''I'VE PAID FOR MY BREAKDOWN BUT
NUD WON'T COME OUT PLEASE HELP''....just in case....

I wasnt asked when I took it out if I had insurance with them, or where I got the code from. If my dad breaks down anywhere and they dont honour the cover then I will be very unhappy indeed. You phone a specific phone number when you break down, I dont think for a minute that they will check all the specific details over before they send somebody out to the driver. I would think they would just check the policy number and thats all.

I found this post very misleading as you don't discover you're supposed to have an NU Motor policy to use this code until you've spent time going through all the details with the operator, by which time they have all your personal information. If you're not careful and don't tell them, they'll add you to the mailing list.

Add you to the mailing list - what does that mean?

I work for Norwich Union Direct who offer a stand alone Breakdown policy called NU Rescue. Although the product is branded as NU's own, it is actually operated and supported by the RAC and is very very good value so long as your car is not very old. The deal is even better because just now there is a promotion running which sees any of the breakdown packages sold at HALF PRICE for the identical level of cover.

To take advantgae of this offer, simply call 0800 096 4704 between 8am and 10pm and quote the reference: CQM1. This is a superb offer and the full package of homestart, roadside and relay with onward travel cost me £28 for a 2000 Peugeot 206. JUts don't forget the reference number!!!

The best thing to do is first read the cheapest roadside recovery article then compare the price the code gives you with the cheapest there (which is very cheap).

I have checked this code out with NU and it is legit. It has asked me to inform people that it is only supposed to be for people who already have car insurance with it.

Have just taken advantage of this for 17 year old daughter's first car and was quoted £30 for cheapest recovery, 50% off! Thank you NU Worker!!

    Hi Lally
This would be the junk mail list.I'm not sure if they would give out your details to other companies outside their remit. In any case have you got the blanket and the sign ready? :D:D

Was only talking today about breakdown cover for son in his 10yr old metro.
Looked on RAC website and then to see if I had enough Tesco clubcard vouchers to pay for it £1.50 short grrr then......he has insurance through NU Direct so......

NU Rescue - roadside, rescue and at home £47.52 for 12 months !

Fantastic. THANK YOU SO MUCH to insuranceinsider.
