nemo183 I'm still waiting for a supposed resend of my documents too. I think I originally applied about the same time as you.

Was really pleased with this deal, however it has taken from 25th April for documents to arrive and 2 phone calls! I believe others have also had the same delays.

I am also still waiting for my docs, after applying on 23 April and the money being taken a few days later. Was being lazy not getting on to them but will definitely do so now I have read others' experiences.
What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!

DFD - WAS: a while ago

NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Can't believe it. Rang NU Direct last night to ask about my docs and they said they had sent them the day after I took out the policy (23/4). I said I hadn't received them and they said that maybe they had been lost in the post! Normally I would believe that but not after reading that most of the other people on here who took out the policy around the same time also have not received their docs. What's going on?!

So far, NU have claimed to have sent my docs to me four times. The last time, they promised to send them by registered post, to arrive before 2.00pm on Tuesday of this week. I wasn't that surprised when they didn't turn up. When I called them, first they claimed there had been "a computer error" which had prevented post that was to be registered being sent out. This seemed fairly improbable, so I asked to speak to a supervisor, who told me that the docs hadn't been sent registered post as it was against company policy to do so.

I frankly don't believe a word they say. One way or another I will get this policy sorted, but I will never do any kind of business with them again. One problem seems to be that half my calls seem to be dealt with by a service centre in India, and the other half in the UK. It seems somewhat surreal to be told by some Indian in Mumbai that the explantion for all this is that everything "has gone missing in the post" .

I have requested the joining pack yet again, and have been told that it will be here in 5 working days (again....) Also was told that I am not on the policy, even though it was I who phoned for the joint quote (Dads car with me as a driver) and I paid for it with my card. But despite that he continued to discuss it with me. They obviously have not heard of the Data Protection Act in Mumbai!

When I phoned they transferred the call to India as they said that's where their customer service was.

Today, in the same post, I got 4 sets of docs for my policy. Having read through them carefully, they appear to confirm that both my wife and I have our cars covered for full recovery outside Europe, plus the same cover on my motor bike. We also got several sets of UK maps, plus some tax disc holders.

All this for £52.80 - rather than the previous lowest quote of over £200.

It may have taken a month of calling, but at least NU have eventually done the decent thing.
