My Dad finally received a large booklet from them with all sorts of paperwork and a tax disc holder in it, but still no Atlas! He already received a single piece of paper with his policy number on so all this new stuff is kind of unnecessary0

My policy was taken out at the end of April and STILL no documentation.I have been given a policy number over the phone and told that we are covered. On my last call to chase the documents I was told that they would be sent out the next day by registered post and guess what-they haven't arrived.I will NEVER use this company again and wish that I had not bothered with them in the first place.Casey0

Further to my recent post, I've got get another set which I think brings the total to 5.
NU's promise to send the docs by registered post has been made by someone at NU who does not know that they NEVER send roadside policies out this way - I was also made this promise before speaking to someone who said it should never have been made.
I think the most important thing is to make sure you have your policy number and the recovery telephone number - and that NU have taken the funds from your card.
Having said this, I agree with a previous poster - I don't think I'd ever take a policy out with NU again, whatever the cost.0 -
Not wanting to start a race issue but do Norwich Union still have their call centre and back office staff operation in India?
If it's anything like the one for the Bank I work for some of you will never get your policy documents.
To give an example of what I get is a customer ringing up wanting to claim for a burst radiator only to be asked by cso in India 'What is a radiator?'
The culture difference makes it impossible to give satisfactorily customer service from India.
Sorry rant over!

I took out the breakdown cover at the beginning of may - only £45.00! for a Kia Sedona. I phoned today 1/6 and was told my documents will be re-sent, but was assured I am covered. The guy I spoke to had a scots accent so I hope the call-centre is in the UK.Titch0

I finally got my docs at the end of last week, after phoning three times to chase them. Actually got two sets of docs but only the one tax disc holder and atlas! Was a pain to chase them up but at least their phone number is free and I got a good price. On the whole...I'm happy. What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!
DFD - WAS: a while ago

A fantastic offer...
I was with autonational which cover 2 cars for £95...
I thought I'd give this a try and I got both cars (peugeot 306 estate (51 reg) and a renault clio (S reg)) covered for both of us and we are covered for ANY other vehicle whether we are driving or a passenger for £65!!!!
They said I would get the paperwork in 4-5 working days (i'll chase after 6) and we then have 14days to cancel if somehtings not right...
Thanks 'insuranceinsider' the code is great (when I gave the guy on the phone the code he said you'll get a really cheap quote with this...! and I did!!!)

Fab I have just got the full works for £38 which is great for my car (its 9 year old micra). Also got the option to pay in 4 monthly instalments of just over £9 with no added charges. Just need to remember to cancel my DD after 1st Sept. Gave me policy number and breakdown number on telephone but hopefully I will not need them. Just a bit concerned about docs now after reading this read. But thanks fab deal. :T :T0

He may have decided to work in India when NU moved out some of their work. :eek:0 -
Hi, got a quote today, 13th June, for 2 cars - Roadside, Home and Recovery. Was told the discount code was for NU car insurance policy holders, so I couldn't have it. It seemed to be a UK call centre. I rang back to say that I thought the code was an introductory offer and not for existing policy holders. However, got through to a non-UK call centre and they accepted the code straight away and quoted a £52 - half the existing! So natuarlly accepted it! Brilliant. many thanks.0
