Mealplan as follows:
Sun 18 - out for dinner (voucher, treated by OH for birthday)
Mon 19 - griddled seabass with roasted veg, lemon & coriander rice and salad (only had to buy salad and the seabass - a pricey treat since we had so much budget left!)
Tues 20 – duck and cherry tomato pasta with garlic bread (duck from freezer)
Wed 21 – chickpea loaf with veg and bread (cooked chickpeas from freezer & veg in fridge)
Thurs 22 – macaroni cheese with broccoli
Fri 23 – out for dinner (with grandparents, who'll pay)
Sat 24 – HM Thai turkey burgers with chips and salad (burgers from freezer, potatoes in stock)
Lunches - butter bean and cabbage soup for me; tuna or ham sandwiches for OH
Lovely mealplan Bluegreen!:D
Had a few spends since my last post:
20p on an onion from the market stall outside the tube station
£3.80 in Mr S yesterday
£1.10 in Mr S today
89p in Mr S today
Need to start thinking about reigning in my entertainment spends soon, because I've decided to opt into a course to benefit my work (and CV). It will cost £2700 in total, so I'm hoping work will agree to a study loan to cover monthly installments. Will be doing evening classes or Saturday classes (course availability hasn't been confirmed yet), so need to also look at batch cooking for main lunches instead of dinners.
Meal plan this week has been/will be:
Monday (I cooked): Gochujang/Soy/Garlic chicken with mangetout, babycorn and sesame seeds served with rice. Used the last of this paste, so won't be doing this one for a while (even though it's delicious!)
Tuesday (Housemate cooked): Salmon with an anchovy and rosemary 'tapenade' served with new potatoes and broccoli
Wednesday (Housemate will cook): Cajun chicken with roasted tomatoes and onions served with couscous
Thursday (Housemate will cook): Breaded fish with new potatoes and salad
Friday (I'll cook): Chilli con carne (with turkey mince meatballs) served with rice
Saturday - enjoying bank holiday - will be a restaurant.
Sunday - visiting family, so having them cook.
I 'owe' a meal cooking to next week as a result.
Hope everyone is well.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Not posted for ages so the not so good news first - I've now added all the receipts for this month and it shows that I've not been keeping a close eye as it is way over target.
Lots of bits and bobs with DH popping in to the shops and buying 'treats' as it's the holidays and we've also just stocked up on lollies and ice cream (all on offer).
The good news is that I've finally ventured into the local farm shop and have been buying their own produce tomatoes, cucumbers, strawbs, cauli and eggs - all cheaper and much, much tastier than the supermarket. Will be venturing to the local butcher next time we need meat too.
I've started to plan for packed lunches as the boys are starting school and so have run some ideas by them and now need to get things made and in the freezer ready.
I'm back on the case and next month will be better!0 -

Hello all - I have been lucky with the yellow stickers at Mr M lately. Last night I got a nice Hovis loaf for 9 pence. Yes, 9 pence. Only £16 left in the August budget now, but I'm well and truly stocked up to get me through the next 10 days and my shop last night also included buying 3 bottles of wine (all with money off, and then an extra 25% as pooled my wine with a friend's 3 bottles to get the buy 6 discount!)
It feels a bit wrong buying bread for 9 pence, does anyone else feel a bit funny when it's that cheap?!September 2014 Grocery Challenge = £160 on target

Just shy of £12 spent in Morrisons getting a few fresh bits since we have no come home from our almost holiday!
Tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, mushrooms, an onion, eggs, wraps, bananas, some reduced value scones (wanted a little treat!), some flavoured waters (can't bring myself to drink anymore plain water following how much I drank whilst away! and wanted the fizziness), some cheeky sweets and 2 sachets of white hot choc, a small value malt loaf and half a melon!
Pay day is Friday and all we should need before then is steak cut chips to go with tomorrows gammon *drools*
