Lots of bits and bobs with DH popping in to the shops and buying 'treats' as it's the holidays and we've also just stocked up on lollies and ice cream (all on offer).
The good news is that I've finally ventured into the local farm shop and have been buying their own produce tomatoes, cucumbers, strawbs, cauli and eggs - all cheaper and much, much tastier than the supermarket. Will be venturing to the local butcher next time we need meat too.
I've started to plan for packed lunches as the boys are starting school and so have run some ideas by them and now need to get things made and in the freezer ready.
I'm back on the case and next month will be better!
Wish we had a local farm shop vvery enviousGc 2013 +26 -5. -4 -7 -14 -15 -10.-8.20 +15p+30+5.80 Dec +9 GROCERY challenge 2014 Jan -2Feb -3 March -1.50 April +5.40 May +4.90 June -3.July 16.50/85

Only £16 left in the August budget now, but I'm well and truly stocked up to get me through the next 10 days and my shop last night also included buying 3 bottles of wine (all with money off, and then an extra 25% as pooled my wine with a friend's 3 bottles to get the buy 6 discount!)
It feels a bit wrong buying bread for 9 pence, does anyone else feel a bit funny when it's that cheap?!

Good luck lizalloareds!
Haven't posted for a few days, been busy working boo!!
Dinner last night was roast leg of lamb - used a Delia recipe which called for butter, rosemary, parsley, mint, garlic and black pepper to be rubbed into the skin. Delish.
Tonight we are having DR sausages and mash. DS2 is off to LEGOLAND Germany tomorrow morning at 1.30am so doing a 'bog standard' dinner, then he will have a few hours sleep before I get him up at midnight
Will be off to Ts this afternoon as DS2 needs a packed breakfast and lunch plus snacks for the journey. We also need some salad, veg, milk etc. Hoping for a small spend as budget looking really shabby!

I went 7 months without weighing, calorie counting, fretting about dieting, and when i did weigh, i had lost exactly a stone
Giving up the dieting mentality is the best thing i have ever done!
i just eat reasonably healthy, but always allow myself treats. I try to eat intuitively now and it works well!
Thanks for the advice! I haven't been religiously dieting, but I'm very guilty of crisps, snacks nuts etc... Plus olives and wine! I don't eat my five a day or any great amount of fruit and veg. I'm just trying to improve my diet generally!
I find buying lots of fresh fruit and veg expensive though... I've been buying some frozen and tinned, but there seems no way round fresh salad?
ThanksSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

Just picked up YS GD apples for £0.95p and four for a £1 drinks to take to the park as I wasnt organised enough to take any with us, in the rush to get out. We are a bit low on juice anyway and my girls are away at tbe weekend, so may have to take some supplies with them.
Need milk again on way home. So that should be another £1.00 to add, if that's all I pick up; so will be a total of £2.95 to add.
