Back from hols and no time to read all the thread - will start afresh with September on Saturday (SEPTEMBER? WHAT?!). OH was super generous while we were away and paid for sooo much, I hate to think how much I would have spent if I had gone halves like I intended to - much more than I budgeted for, and as it is I will have to be very careful this month. But it was lovely to get away!

Do any of you lovely shoppers know what the Adl! super 6 are at the moment? Their website is showing the offer that ended on 14th August...

The 39p broc, carrot, radish, tom ,lit gem. And spring onions. The Celery ,iceberg and cuc are stlll 49p but i do not know when it finishes

  • Oh dear is all I have to say! This is my first grocery challenge and already we've gone over by about £50 with still one shop to do before pay day. I think I made the mistake of cutting our budget from £170 pw to £100 pw in one go and I suppose that was never going to happen was it? On the plus side though we should be massively under our usual spends so it's all good. If OH and kids will let me/not complain, I'm hoping to live out of the cupboards and freezer until pay day other than fresh stuff like bread, milk, fruit & veg etc. There's money in the bank for another full weeks shop but it's more about the challenge lol! I'll update signature when I've added the receipts up tomorrow x

Spent a huge amount in mr t as we seemed to have run out of everything:eek: my total came to £120.22 which is almost half my budget. This includes £10 on toiletries, £20 on household stuff like 18 loo rolls, washing up liquid and a new water bowl for the dog. I also bought a months worth of pull ups, over 2 weeks of dog food and £9 of flowers. Oh and everything but fruit and fresh bits for the next 2 weeks meal plan. I bought value products where I could including some curry sauce to try.

My DH has decided to give up booze which I counted separately last month. This month I have included the £4.50 I have spent on soft drinks to replace the beer.

I did get some bargains on YS GF wraps, bread and tea cakes. We had someone coming to give us a a quote last night so I bought DH a pizza to just chuck in when the man had gone but could not get any GF pizza bases so made a pizza with one of the GF wraps as the base and it was lovely. I pinched the idea off my friend who uses chapati as pizza bases.

I normally buy spring force loo roll but have bought velvet on offer to see if it lasts us any longer.

I forgot to buy batteries yesterday as I hadn't put them on the list and. Try so hard to stick to what's on it. We need to get some super glue to mend DH work shoes as well. £80 clarks and the sole has come away at the heel:mad:

Will be visiting the butcher to get our chicken for the month this afternoon. About 12 big chicken breasts which aren't full of water for £10.:)

I have £129.78 left and 26 days until my next payday.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

Thought I'd better come and and report my losing control of our spending this last week. I haven't been counting receipts but we are definitely well over budget:mad: I think the reason being I made the budget unrealistically low and also didn't mealplan and shop weekly.

I am going to try for September again though with a higher goal and that will start on Thursday and go through 4 weeks to the 24th september.

I will try and cook from what's in cupboard for the next few days and see if I can keep my spending down till then:o
