XSpender I don't like seeing how much toiletries and household spends cost either! I decided to budget separately for them this month, so they don't cause me to go over on "food" budget and I can plan better for things I need.
Medsdemon I think I did that first time too, halved the budget and it just didn't work! Cutting down a bit at a time means you've got more chance of reaching your target and feeling great about it, rather than going way over and feeling rubbish and potentially losing enthusiasm for the whole thing. Did you spend less than you normally would anyway?

Spend of £4.25 yesterday.
Had a baking day with DGD yesterday.
I need to restock my baking cupboard - nearly out of Desiccated Coconut plus had to buy more eggs - we used - 12!
Just me here in evening and I was exhausted so dinner was DGD's home made Egg and bacon Pie with some baked beans.
DGD is 12 years old - first time she had made pastry.
Photos later - DGD did 6 recipes.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Have lost track of my spending this month, I got confused with it being summer holidays and then going to my sisters a few weekends to dog sit, and also starting the new job and struggling with a new routine (excuses, excuses)...so I am going to start again in September.
Up until now, my weekly grocery budget has been £60-£65 a week, but the boys were getting free school meals based in my benefits.
Now we wont get them, so I am thinking that another £20 should do it.
But that takes it up to £80-£85 a week!! That seems like an awful lot of money on food.
Although I could afford it, I'd rather spend the money on something else instead of giving it to Tesc0!
Any advice welcome...0 -

a few spends to add in, i really need to stop popping into shops for a couple of things, the usual go in for one thing and come out with 10.
anyway a £19.10 shop in asda, we went to morrisons for our big shop this week as had a voucher for money off and wanted to get the petrol voucher as well so we spent £64.49. didn't get all i needed though as they are refurbishing the shop and its all swapped around which i hate when i can't find things, will pop back to morrisons on monday though once special offers change as i have another wee voucher off to spend again.
so in total £83.59 to add to my totalDEBT
