    Hi all,

Spent approx £240 in August so under budget

    But.....

We were away for a week, and spent wayyyyy toooo much whilst on holiday.

I,m off to September now, will have to be very self contolled to get back on track, have gone into overdraft and need to get back in the black to save for Christmas prezzies.

    Good luck all x
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130
  • Wellll.... Its nowhere near as bad as i thought! :j

I've been keeping ALL of my receipts too so I know this is an honest tally up since I returned from holiday. Not including the money I spent on holiday as this came out of a different fund.

Anyway.... My receipts add up to a grand total of exactly £164.00 which includes stuff like dog food, hair dyes and even a costly pic n mix for my daughter!

So that makes me £401.41/£480.00 so i'm going to log onto approved foods and finally make my first order. Kids are back at school next week and I need to stock up on cheap packed lunch fillers if I can. I should only need bread/milk from the shops this week so with a bit of luck i'll come under budget! :j:beer:

I seriously can't believe that! I think seeing all the receipts building up in my purse has made me feel guilty buying non-necessities so I subconsciously cut back  The cupboards are looking bare, but i'm not planning a big shop till I get paid on Thursday. Will make what I have in last till then, but may need to be creative :rotfl:

So pleased i'm all tallied up now. Will sleep well tonight not worrying i've gone right off track. Its amazing how just writing everything down and keeping receipts can really make you see just how you spend your money.

Thanks everyone on here for all the ideas and keeping me going! :D

Really pleased to declare at £161.79 / £175 for August. No idea why I'm so far under (I normally scrape under each month) but even better, we seem to have loads in stock except meat - which isn't too bad of a problem since we don't eat much meat. I've upped Sept's budget by £10 as it's a five weekend month for me though.

See you over in Sept but will keep an eye over here in case any recipes are added.

Spent £14 in Tesco Express on fruit, bread and kids' treats, salad and drinks.

Takes my total so far for August to £112, not as good as the £100 I was aiming for but that was (not for the first time) a random figure, so overall I have to be pleased with that, I do need to buy more food but it would be good to come in at less than £130/£150.

Oh dear adding in my spends for the weekend I am at £396 which is £46 over budget, but on the plus side its still a lot less than I would have spent :-) hopefully will be under £400, as I ave put £4 in my purse and that's all I have for the week.

Will sign up to September and hopefully come in on track

    Hello all

Spent £4.28 in Mr S yesterday. Planning Curried ground turkey with potatoes tonight - a new recipe so will see how it goes. Need to use up my turkey mince before getting other meat in.

Have a good day everyone :D

What is the second purse thing i have seen a few people mention?
