Is it just me, or is indicating going out of fashion?

    And another thing!
Youngsters these days have no idea what a zebra crossing is. It probably doesn't even occur to them that someone has painted part of the road a different colour? :)

Unless you're in a supermarket car park in which case the zebra crossing seems to be foreign to most!

BMW are about to launch the biggest recall in their car manufacturing history. They are acting on reports from drivers of other marques that the direction indicators don't appear to be functioning in the majority BMW vehicles.
Mercedes and Volvo and manufacturers of 16s are considering doing similar but say the malfunction doesn't seem to be as common on their cars as it is with BMW.:p

"And of course don't forget the old sitting in the outside lane at the traffic lights, you pull up behind them, light turns green, indicator comes on and you're stuck behind them."
My late FIL used to do this without fail and it annoyed the hell out of me (and drivers behind him in the same lane who assumed he was going straight on). If it was pointed out to him the response was "I'm in the right hand lane and they should know I'm turning right"!

It really is annoying, you constantly see, or rather don't see people indicating.

But what's even more annoying, is those that indicates where there's no need to be indicating, or those who indicate too early so you think they are going one way, but then go past drive another few hundred meters and then turn.

And those that leave their indicators on.

And those with blown brake lights.

Oh forget it, every other road user infuriates me

I've been driving since 1997 and cycling for a while before then but I've never known indicating to be in fashion, it's particularly bad when I'm on the bike which is annoying when you've given up your speed and come to a halt only to find the person was turning off but couldn't be bothered indicating.

It annoys me intensely, both as a driver and as a pedestrian. I've almost been mowed down by drivers deciding to swing into a turning, just as I've started to cross the road, if they let me know what they're doing, I'm far less likely to try to cross in front of their car!

And don't get me started on roundabouts. It's not rocket science, is it? Flash left if you want to turn left, flash right if you want to go right. Indicate when you want to leave the roundabout....and that's it. 3 simple rules, and yet it's still too much trouble for some people. There should be instant fines for anyone who pulls out without indicating [STRIKE]in front of me[/STRIKE] at roundabouts!

Do you lot suffer from road rage -it would be nice if drivers gave extra signs to interpret where a driver is going but it keeps everyone on their toes if no signs given and it does not bother me one bit as even if they are indicating its not an absolute given thats what they are going to do.
  • I find it's usually suit wearing business men in flashy cars. They are probably used to doing what they like and not worrying about how their actions might affect the less important folk.

No, I don't suffer from road rage nor do you need to for it to be irritating for other road users not to be using indicators. When using the road you always have to try and ensure you're prepared for whatever might happen but it makes it far easier and more convenient if people use their indicators correctly so you can prepare accordingly.

And I find the exact opposite, for me its parents in their kiddy carriers and Bus drivers and tax drivers not indicating.
