Sorry Lil-me I know it it over to the new thread I am going but wanted to finish the bed debate here.

Thanks for all your honesty - I'll come clean on my routine - our bed everyweek, kids beds most weeks but can be fortnightly for various reasons - too much washing, too wet to dry, too busy, can't be a** - sorry bothered.

I did not change the beds before we went away - they had been done the week earlier and were not being slept in so thought I'd put clean sheets on when I came home, consequently sheets have been on a fortnight. When I pulled of DS2 sheet there was a spider cocooned in a web with her nest. Sheets are still on hall floor - she has come out and is now sitting on her nest. I will take her outside and try to move her nest for her- I don't have a spider problem but are really scared of rats/bats.

Fluffy bits - they could be spider nests - they are slightly cream coloured and covered in a whiter web. Or I hate to say it they could be moths - this is actually worse. Dad died 2 years ago and poor Mum has not coped and the housework has gone way of track. Still she is getting a bit better and decided to sort out her storeroom - attached to house. In the corner were all these empty case things and the wool carpet had been eaten away! We are not talking a nibble - a massive bare patch. Had to have the pest man in. It sure has wipped her into hooving under beds etc!

On that happy note let this thread rest and over to the new one!

PS sorry family for being so grumpy today - hormones but at least it made you kids clean all your own rooms - to ice the chocolate cake (with homegrown strawberries)

  • Have bagged up 3 black bags full of clothes/shoes for car boot, youngest son and his girlfriend do one every week as they are saving up for a holiday. 3 bags for recycling, 3 baskets of sons numbers 2 & 3 clothes in my room for some reason, for putting in the loft 2 fans, 1 trombone which belongs to son number 1 who moved into his own house 2 years ago (so why is this in my bedroom??) and a large bag of knitting wool.

Plenty of bare coat hangers in my wardrobe now and not a lot of clothes but hey I can find things now and walk around my bedroom.

Only got to make the bed but DH is just about to cook dinner so will wait until I've had that before we tackle the duvet monster, have a super king duvet and it attacks both of us every time we change the cover!!

In between all this me and DH managed to make a list of work/repairs that need doing in the house so I am feeling like I have really achieved today. Oh to take a month off work and just carry on like this and get everything done.

I think I might prepare tomorrows dinner later, talk about got the bug!!
    :rolleyes2

Have been quite busy today, but wonderfully relaxed at the same time.

Did most of the washing yesterday, but finished off today. Folded and put away as well. only a few pieces left to iron and two loads of washing outside on the line drying.

I cleaned most of the kitchen today. Wanted to take out the olive oil and found the inside of the cabinet filthy and sticky so decided to clean it out and one thing led to another.. :D

Two of our girls got taken off to the fair (is that what you call it? rides and rollercoasters and stuff in town?) all afternoon and DS was off playing baseball all day. That made for a reasonable quite afternoon. Except little one didn't want to take a nap, so I spent much time this afternoon playing with her in a tent in the garden. DH had set it up for testing as he's going to need it next weekend.

Lots of pottering about this weekend.. busy but nice.

Going to see what the list for tomorrow is now.

Hi, I've been too busy flying to read any posts yet from yesterday or today. DD gets back this evening after 2 months away so we are busy getting her room ready. Why do we always leave things to the last minute?

    Walk dog
    Plant out vegetable seedlimgs
    Tidy and dust lounge
    Sweep hall and stairs
DDs room, make bed, dust, vacuum, clean bathroom, clean mirrors and windows, and window ledge. Remove all 'junk' that has been dumped in there.
Bulk cooking-bolognaise sauce, rhubarb jam (I'm still making it).
    Tidy freezer
Chase Lakeland order-where are my jam pot covers?
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

  • Hope everyone had a good day. I was still on a high after yesterday and so glad to be able to find clothes quickly this morning. Thank goodness I had kept one set of warm clothes in my wardrobe, rest had gone in the wash ready for putting away. I was lulled into a false sense of security and thought summer had arrived.

Actually managed to sleep well last night, perhaps it had something to do with feeling like I have made a start in respect of getting on top of things that keep me awake all the time. Thanks everyone, just reading your posts have helped a lot.

Had a good day at work and started decluttering my paperwork.

Know I should do something a bit more productive tonight but am going to nip off and get into my jimmies and just browse MSE site. A bit of ME time.

May see you later if not have a good tomorrow.
